Maccy Dad,
If you's got's any sense in ya, you'll get your lazy ol' carcass up to Alta today and save the 1 hour drive for some later date.
ALTA IS GOING OFF!!!
Yup, alta IS going off... and so is every other place within an hour of SLC. Heck, even SUNDANCE got dumped on.Quote:

There will be better days at Basin (like friday, probably), but today should be pretty sweet. 4" of new since 5am, and it's still dumping.
At any rate, I'll be grabbing the moose's nutsack at 9. See ya'll 'round.
Fackers! Lumpy, if we make it up you better sack up for another day.Quote:

ALTA IS GOING OFF!!!
DAY. THEN THE JET PUSHES ACROSS THE AREA THURSDAY NIGHT AND BRINGS
A STRONG COLD FRONT WITH IT. THE FRONT SHOULD MOVE THROUGH THE
ENTIRE FORECAST AREA BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON.
TOTAL SNOWFALL OVER THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE AREA WILL PROBABLY END
UP SIMILAR TO THE HUGE CHRISTMAS WEEKEND STORM. HOWEVER THE WATER
CONTENT IS EXPECTED TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY LESS...PERHAPS ONLY ABOUT
HALF OF THE EARLIER STORM.
HAD MORE THAN ENOUGH TO DO THIS MORNING WITH JUST THE WEATHER FOR
THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. SO LITTLE CHANGE IN THE PACKAGE BEYOND
FRIDAY WITH THIS PACKAGE EXCEPT TO LOWER THE PROBABILITIES ON
SATURDAY A BIT. [/anti jinx]
First let me start by saying....
6.5 hours to Denver....what the in the hell where you thinking boy?
Thats an average of at least 90 MPH are you crazy man. I hope you where by your self, and you didn’t expose your fine little wife to that thrill... I'm glad you are home safe.
I did Summit Park UT to CSU Fort Collins ( by the way I'm drinking a 90 shilling) in 5.5 hours in my RX7 one fall, but the roads where clear.
I saw the Boss today you are crazy :D
Now where do I start? Perhaps with a thanks to Xover on the invite up to Alta. but I could not do it, believe me when I say, I wish I was there, but I had made plans with a buddy that came out from Kentucky and we had to ride at SBasin. By the way MR nice DTM huck story. I wish I was 21 .again
Now true ;) thanks go out to FlyKdog and Lumpy for showing us around one of Utah's best little secrets, next to the 9990 lift at the Canyons.
Snow Basin Rocks.. I skied some of the best untracked pow that I have skied all season.
I cant wait to do it again.
I’m out of beer and words to describe the day maybe Lumpy in between “rounds” w/ his lady friend will log on and finish up
FlyKdog great guy, better skier, is one hell of a patient man prolly waited 10 minutes for us at the hairy mouse ball sack.
Backpack sorry we missed you
Glad you had a good time. I wish I could've been there to return the tour guide favor from all those days at the bird years ago.
Yeah, I was averaging between 90-100 most of the time. Whenever I got to a populated area I slowed down a little thinking cops might be around. I usually make it in around 7 hours. The roads were clear the entire way.
Got stuck behind those california busses in the canyon going 15-20MPH, then passed the slowest one only to get behind the others on the snowbasin road going just as slow... so I got in at around 9:15 and was on JP at 9:20... didn't see anyone at the moose so I figured ya'll had left.
That’s funny BP, because Lumpy was stuck behind all those prebubes on the Sandog busses too!!!
You facker! I had to deal with 100+ miles of a sheet of ice and 18 wheelers jack knifing left and right! I also had to travel down 130 before Elk Mountain over to HWY 14, over Cameron pass because the damn HWY was closed. Should have stayed:( . Nobody missed me over here anyways. The wife was surprised that I got home so EARLY! damnQuote:

Hey FlyKdog and Lumpy-
thanks for the tour. I always wanted to check out the Basin. Next time I will have that burger and beer. And now I know about this site, I'm on, and I'll be lurking so keep an eye out. Right now I'm dreaming of the day I move back to the pow. If ya'all ain't figured it yet, I'm MacD's Amigo living out East. Thanks for the patience, the traverses suck on a board, next time I might have to pull out the xXx's and two-plank it with you.
MacD, I made it home alive. Huge thanks!
