Also, I would not put it past the old Nordic Valley, now Wolf Mountain, to sneak in out front this year, if Ogden Valley temps allow...
I'm rather disappointed that the low temps in LCC (Collins Study Plot, 9662 MSL) have been hovering around the upper 30's, low 40's.Quote:

Yea, but they have no desire to open before Thanksgiving, and besides they've never run Middle Bowl without a way down to the bottom, so they have to make waay more snow than most places to open.Quote:

If I remember correctly Nordic Valley has THE lowest base elevation, not just in Utah, but of all the Rocky Mountain States (Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana). Staying cold enough, long enough to beat out Brighton will be a tall order for them.

Yep. It's low. I looked it up. Whoa. It's the same base elevation as the mile-high city of Denver. What does that mean? Well, that's 4,000 feet lower than Alta's Albion parking lot, and more than 3,000 feet lower than Brighton's. And it only has about 1000 vert. That's gonna make it a challenge to open before the Cottonwoods, but they should go for it just to kick-off the new place with a lot of publicity!
NOAA says that there is a good chance of snow in the Wasatch this weekend. Let's start getting that base together.
