When my oldest was younger, he really enjoyed shiro, jr’s. He’s now riding adult shiros in their longest length as his soft snow ski.
Just got a pair of secret 92’s (in 149cm) for one of my 14yo’s. Not too big and 105#. I’m hoping it’s not too much ski for him as a daily driver.
All of my kids used the Faction Candide youth ski. One hundred mm underfoot and flat camber with rocker tip and tails. The are great Alta daily drivers for kids. I’m moving on from them if you’re interested. I have a set in one hundred thirty five cm and one hundred fifty five cm. I’m in Salt Lake City but would be against shipping. Cheers.

So you ended up purchasing the Vokl Jr 100 for your son, right? How did that work out, because I can't really find much (any) real world feedback on how the behave in and out of powder, and once the pow gets chopped up? THANKS!
Yes, bought the 153 and 163 after he skied the shorter ski. Honestly, this year has been low-tide and high density when it has snowed. He hasn't been able to surf them around like he did the QST Ripper. That said, he really seems to like the way they destroy crud. Hopefully we'll get some deep days so I can report back on float, but I think they will do great. With the full rocker profile I would not say it is the most versatile ski, but he has not complained about cruising groomers back to the chair or park skiing them.
Couple other skis to consider since this got bumped.My kid is a racer and translates that style to his freeriding. He charges hard in the trees and pow.He had been on the Moment Carsons which he loved. After outgrowing those he moved onto Bacon Jr's which he hated. Total noodle that didn't work with his style at all.Got him Praxis GPO Jrs this year and he is loving them. For a 100 pounder 97 under foot with the big shovel float well. They are stiff enough to hold up to load and he says they feel really lively.

It is a pretty substantial ski (heavy). My son does not seem to have any issues with it when the mountain gets tracked up. It is a full reverse ski so I wanted to see how he liked them. Definitely different from his daily drivers (QST blank team). I bought the next size because they were 60% off and I wanted it for next year.
