Brutal schedule for the Sox this past month, yesterday was their first off day since 8/22. Gonna be an interesting finish.
plus, this team, one game back to the yankees..totally fucked.

Bill, you forget that Foulke is a whiner and useless. I heard it on EEI. I for one am glad hes gone. Becuase the team is totally better without him. durfdurfdurf.
nevermind that the entire 'pen is in shambles because he was the heart of it last year

that fist doomed him.
these boys are to young to remember the implosions of yore...
coughBucky Dent
notice the iceman is being really really quiet recently?
hes having flashbacks like nam vets do about the war.....
We remember them Woodsy. They just aren't relevant. Just like last year's Yankee historic choke isn't relevant to whats going on this year.
dood, you werent even 2
and not that I really care, because I want the ALCS MVP to be named CoCo Crisp (best baseball name ever!), but the Yanks actually improved their pitching from last year and well you guys went the other direction
Your Stockton shorts got you all in a bunch? I think the collapse most vivid in the memories of most in that of last year. With the Sox/Yanks and Tribe/SouthSiders both squaring off in the final series, this is gonna get real interesting. Our bullpen is pretty much a trainwreck right now. Can Timlin pitch 3 innings per day?Quote:

fucking hate the yanks.
Maybe he meant to say that the Yanks "attempted" to improve their rotation. They had a solid one, on paper, at the beginning of the year. Who'da thought all this shit would happen? 9 games left, each one of them counts. Big time.Quote:

And 2 of the 3 were the logs that stuck. The point is still valid - to say that they upgraded their pitching staff is wrong, unless you consider stopgaps who just happened to not suck an "upgrade".Quote:

thats my man papelbon, you know he's got it going on [/q-tip]
delcarmine, papes, and young hanson might play a significant roll in the the next 10 days if out starters cant go 8 innings each night.
at the widest margine this season, the redsox lead was five games. in 1978, that lead was 14 games. the sox went on a slide and the yankes won like 50 of 70 leaving the sox 3 1/2 out with 13 games left. the sox finished strong winning 11 of those 13 to force the one game playoff. jim rice had a broken arm.
the situation this season may seem comprable to a twins/dodgers fan living on the wasatch front. but it sure feels different here in the hub, fwiw.
Bas, I hope you are right. But the unfortunate truth is that Tito has shown he has no faith in delcarmen (and rightfully so, as he can't command shit), paps still needs a second pitch, and hansen, according to gammons, can't throw his slider right now due to his arm fatigue. I would love nothing more than to see those 3 stepping up in late innings htis fall though.Quote:

Please don't tell me that he's got a no-trade clause.
Red Sox: 90-64
Yankees: 90-64
