Damn, Marshal, you're making me really want this.. can you fit Verts inside the pack using the back panel zipper? My issue with cinch-top ski packs is that you can't easily get Verts inside. Yeah you can strap em to the outside of the pack but I use Verts a lot and they are so much better inside, especially if you are carrying skis as well.

I threw down for one, noir comme mon coeur. Speedy transitions and easy access are big priorities for me, and it looks like this pack has me covered. Light weight is a nice bonus too.

This is incredible, basically exactly what I've wanted for several seasons knowing it was possible with materials but not accessible short of custom orders from small makers who were pretty overwhelmed. Have actually been teaching myself to sew technical fabrics this year to build something similar. Instead at least for now I'm ordering this! Looking forward to the ~30L size as it's closer to what I typically tour with, but this is definitely going to be my go to for overnights and more technical objectives here in Washington this season.

I sew a lot, and have a badass Pfaff walking foot machine and others. I make stuff from scratch, and I modify a lot of gear & clothing to better suit my needs. Bikepacking bags are especially fun to make and not too intricate. It's a fun hobby and can definitely open up all kinds of avenues to better gear.Quote:

I've spent way more than the full price of this things on several packs that were supposed to be designed for touring and ended up having 5 to 10 annoying quirks. Plus a well designed helmet carrier might finally convince me to upgrade from a big pompom hat to an actual lid.

Looks like it fixes all the things I don't love about my Patagonia Descensionist with only a 100g weight penalty. Truly impressive the features you've gotten in at that weight. Looks to be a perfect pack for hut trips of various sorts too with the flexibility of the roll top and then cinching down for days going out. Bravo.
Can't justify a new pack right now but hope this is just the start for you all.
