That’s awesome. I think if I had a place on a lake, I would want a guide boat
.
what happened to the SUP thread?
or have I gone completely mental?

5 minutes from my house is this put-in, right in the heart of the city.....

Nice spot and slick boat. You’ve kept it nice
Love finding those quiet places in the city.
Here is a picture from down east Maine.

Thanks it’s been hard to string together a few days to make a camping trip worth it this summer. Managed it this past week. Picture is of a Bell Northwind in Blacklight, prettiest canoe I’ve owned.
^^That is an awesome pic.
Spent a few days last week paddling the Southeast Arm of Yellowstone Lake and hiking up the Thorofare Valley. Great trip, can't wait to go back.

That's rad yeahman! How was the bear activity?

Very cool, yeahman
Dang, that sure is purdy.
Can the kayak be used for food storage so you don't have to hang it up?
Not much sign where we were at this time of year. The park service lifts the seasonal bear-related travel restrictions around the lake in mid-July because the bears are mostly in the high country. We did talk to some people who saw a griz at close range farther up the Thorofare Trail. No, it's against rules to leave food in the kayak hatches unattended. All the backcountry campsites in the park have bear poles for hanging. Having everything in dry bags makes it pretty easy.

I’m jealous. Haven’t done an overnight at all this summer. Checked out a new place near home today though- Monksville Reservoir. It was only dammed and flooded in the late eighties so there are still at lot of dead trees upright. These bird houses are a mystery to me though.

I got to volunteer as an escort for two Hudson River swims this summer. I’m glad I did. I5 was a cool experience. First one was on August 5- Newburgh to Beacon which is about a mile. The organizers said most swimmers would do about a mile and a half once the tides factored in.

The second one I got involved in was Nyack to Tarrytown, which is about twice the distance.

If anybody wants to read about it, it’s up on NYSkiBlog. Just hit my link. I’m really glad I did it. I recommend finding events like this and getting involved.
OK, gotta ask:
what's up with the pool noodles?

I came close to being murderized by rockfall last summer paddling underneath this basalt cliff

Yeah, that cliff just looks scary. I think mine stopped moving like a million years ago maybe. Hope I didn’t just jinx myself
