In the SE the daily rain and moisture on the brush keeps them daisy fresh! They are heavy, but the comparison is w pants under rubber rain gear so not wearing the rain gear was a huge upgrade in comfort.

I've been debating cashing in my pronghorn points as well and all the feedback I've gotten is the NW units (2,3,4, etc) are the best bet for hunt experience and public access. If you have access to private or want to drive east and start knocking on doors then that's an option but everything I've heard is access is getting harder to get out East. I've heard the Grasslands units can be good but get crowded and are a shitshow opening weekends. The guy who won the RMBS statewide raffle tag a few years back shot his in one of the San Luis Valley units, but I think he had some private land access to scout and find it, and overall numbers in those units are relatively low I think. Take this all with a grain of salt since it's all second hand though.

Thanks for the feedback. Most of the units north of Hwy40 look intriguing, as well as the North Park area. We're going to stash the points for another year.

CO applications are due tomorrow, get 'em done! This is a good guide for available tags, required points, first choice applicants, etc.

No email yet but a pending charge on my CC for $319.58 from CPW as of this AM!! Looks like I may be hunting moose in my backyard this fall!! Must be karma for all the seasons the freezer was empty.

Social Media in our area will help you track said moose too.

Good luck with future hunt. Moose meat is one I haven't had.

Good friend drew a 14/16 Wilderness early rifle deer tag in CO. Any mags have some beta around that area? He's striking out.

I’m checking IDFG 2x a day to see if I won the lotto. I’m wondering if they feel compelled to ever have the draw?

OTC mule deer and "combat cow" tag here (me and 2000 other people). Really going to focus on chukar this year, as my older dog is 8 and while she's in great shape, no dog can hunt chukar forever. She loves it and so do I, so we'll give it hell.

Like Snapt, the beauty is that I'm taking some time away from work this fall, so my goal is to hunt five days a week while I can. Kids and life will inevitably get in the way, but that's okay. It's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Stoke is growing.

I drew an either sex antelope tag for eastern MT. I have grown to love that county, and hope to find a big ol' muley buck on the same trip. Also have a elk B tag a little closer to home in a unit I have not previously hunted. I'm feeling pretty rich with opportunity this season!
