People always comment on the fact that the Lefty looks funny and it seems like it should have to be built heavier etc. but it seems like no one notices that the bending moment that the Lefty strut is carrying due to the tire's lateral offset is less than the moment being carried by all forks due to the longitudinal offset. Have a look at any standard fork from the side and notice the distance between the contact patch and the crown...a couple inches to the side is pretty insignificant, especially when it lets them solidly mount the axle to the shock.
Can you take them off? A guy who works in the bike shop I go to is spancered by Cannondale and most of the stickers on his bikes are actually clearcoated, so you can't remove them. The new Gemini Dh's are like that too.Quote:
