Figured it out. The only path to changing stash profile name is through the FAQ and it's called the display name rather than username.
Like Hans said at least I upped my post count.

What was the reason for not setting the stash name and forum name to be identical and setting it up when you first arrive? Everyone complains about the mxxxxx user names anyway, so why even generate them?
