I like the radical variaton on rad also.

One word that was most likely improperly used when I was in elementary school was "massive". We used it in place of cool (or sick now).

Well I always thought "dip" meant a geek or a nerd or a dork, but my 10-year-old tells me it means cool.

So that might work.
