I've put up at least one of these in another thread, but this is the first time I've noticed this one, so here goes:
Some bad weather at the Platforms by the Teepe Glacier on the Grand. The wind is what's making the tent like that:

Better weather the year previous year down in the Meadows below the Middle:

Skillet Glacier, Moran:

And a mellow camp on shitty snow in Yankee Boy Basin:

^^^ I recognize Long Island! What an interesting spot.
We spent much of the last week camping near Zion NP and the grand canyon.

Went backpacking with the pup on the highline trail Jun30th my first summer back out here. Went out around Naturalist Basin and up Rocky Sea Pass, then curled north into the basin framed by Spread Eagle, Ostler, Yard Pks. By this time it was early evening so I set up the pad/bag at the edge of a lake under Spread Eagle Pk. Mosquitos were so bad I went through the repellent with little result. Ended up getting really pissed and packed up to scramble up to higher elevation away from the blood suckers. An hour or so night scramble up a couloir on the south flank of Spread Eagle and I settled down for the night just off the ridge under a boulder that took the brunt of the ridge breeze.
Both the dog and I were pretty cold and uncomfortable that night, but sunrise was something special with all the lakes scattered below. After taking that picture my dog was on the saddle looking over Naturalist Basin. A huge bird, Kite or something like that, swooped in behind my pup just a moment after he moved off the ridge. Not sure if it was a coincidence or the Kite was hunting my dog. Pretty cool experience all said, and just because the skeeters were being a PITA :)

Awesome stoke! Camping out in southern Utah, which has exceptionally dark skies, is a great place to be during the Gemini Meteor shower occurring every December.

Rad Maggot Camp Spots
Phelps Basin near Spider Glacier. Love this spot. 3 point mule deer kept wondering into camp, dogs going nuts. Deer wouldn't leave, eventually had to charge at it with arms in the air until it got the point. Come fall that buck will be jerky.
