Did some dusk patrol last night. It's getting warm up there. There were some pocket of north facing consolidated powder mixed in with a lot of melt/freeze cycle snow in other places. Might be a mini corn cycle soon ;)

The weather forecast this week looks like crap, can we just have a repeat of a start of the 2003-2004 season
At this point I'm pulling for all but the highest, shadiest aspects to melt out before the next storm rolls in. It may happen. Nothing is fucked here, Dude.
Pretty good conditions on the aspects that have "North" in them, above 10'000. Doing laps was fun. Getting back to the truck wasn't.http://i1307.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2f016b73.jpg
so true. not bad in nw facing trees in catherine's area this am.

What a great afternoon of skiing! It's deep up high. Skinned into Catherines, dug a pit around 10500, facet snow near the ground on N, NW facing. Did two tests, one failed at 16, one at 21, facet snow at ground was un-reactive, but new snow was failing on 2-3. Lots of wind happening, tomorrow is going to be touchy. Be careful out there!
sure is. explored bcc in the mill d area. a lot of wind last night but had died down early. still not enough snow on S or E facing aspects yet but the others were deeper than expected. kept it lower angle for the most part as the only steeper line sluffed pretty well. hope those folks that got injured in albion/catherine's yesterday are ok.
Was up on Patsy's this morning via grizzly, definitely deep up there. Still some shallow, sharky spots though, so watch out if you're heading out tomorrow.

Cardiac bowl slid. Looks deep enough to be the Oct/Nov weak layer, not sure though.

The best lines were being had by either poachers or patrol across the road.

Looks big, hope no one was over there when it went. Got out on Saturday, did some laps at Brighton, it was blower. Headed up high to poke around today, didn't get on anything too steep. A couple woomphs, couldn't get anything to move though.
Might as well go to the top

I went up Mill D South today. Dug a few pits without result on ENE aspect around 9300' Conditions were good today. Lost the gopro though on the way down. If you happen to stumble upon it, I will repay you in beer and high fives.
New snow on a melt freeze crust that will work.
that's more like it! I actually meant to call you out to post some turns^^^^^^^, but couldn't remember yer name on here. sweet turns:)

Haney always sez: "those damn pontoon'rs!...With those damn fat WATER skis!...[curmudgeonly laugh]
He also hates split boarders and telemarkers with equal aplomb; for obvious reasons...
Be careful and have fun!
Ps. Always make sure to follows Rog's rule: NO partner, beacon, airbag or helmet? ...NO problems!! ;-)

4 skiers triggered a slide off of Sunset Peak. It looked like 3 were carried, partially buried and self-rescued. More skied down above them with hang fire everywhere. What a shit show back there this AM. All four jumped in together! WTF are these people thinking?
people aren't thinking. times have changed. fat skis have fucked the bc. bet they had airbags tho!:fm:

some people can't read either. advisories make the game so much easier
"Warning! Today has all the ingredients for an avalanche accident today - a good storm, unstable snowpack, powder hungry people. Remember that consequences will be more severe with a shallow snowpack as a victim gets dragged through thinly buried rocks and stumps."
thin snow skiing. I don't get it, never have, never will. recipe for injury.
