There must have been 50 people on the slope today. The mood was well awesome everyone was super excited on getting their first turns of the season in. This next system that is moving in should make for even better skiing as the sharkfins should be covered up by then.

It felt good to get out on the sticks but my feet and back from hiking with skis for 10km say otherwise.

4 or 5 inches of new snow on hard crust layer over frozen grass at unicorn meadows near Chinook Pass. Pretty damn good skiing for a snowpack under a foot.
Heliotrope is such a sick spot for early season turns, you should got there to get it while it's good.

I wish they plowed up to heliotrope till spring! The tree runs you could have off the main trail would be unreal. I always cry a little when then snow line gets deep below 3000ft cause I know it is over.

We too ended up in our own area by our lonesome and out of sight and sound of the circus, but yes it was a shit show extreme one mountain away. Can't see how any of that area is remotely secret given the 10 4x4's, 4-5 snomos and 20-30?+ people in the area that day. Though it was fun watching the group of 10-12 pro ho skiers and boarders hucking their meat in early season conditions.Quote:
