My kids would also choose to be out doing something every single day. It's a good thing, keeps me moving. My son mountian bikes, flyfishes, and recently started rock climbing. His little sister prefers the road bike. They both ski, pretty aggressively, camp, backpack, etc. I'm no good at getting action shots, hell, I'm just a crappy photog generally, but here's some attempted kid stoke anyway.

you're doing it right.
Bumping this thread! Fatherhood and raising confident, smart, strong, silly and capable girls is the best thing I've ever done with my life.
They are now 12 and 9 and I couldn't be more proud of the people they are becoming.

Great thread, great bump! Missed this the first time around. My boy is almost 7 now and turning into quite the little ripper and all-around awesome human being.

And now? We leave in a few days for a month in Vietnam and Thailand to volunteer with amputees and climb steep limestone on the beach!
Bumping this 'cuz my daughter just raced in the 12 Hrs of Mesa Verde race on a team of 4 girls (ages 11 and 12).
The youngest finishers and youngest team ever.
They ROCKED it. Two of them did two laps (36 miles total) and two did one lap each (18miles).
They got 4th place racing agains teams of girls that "Under 18"...and the 3rd place team that barely beat them were HUGE!
I couldn't be more proud. They supported each other and had a blast just being out on the trail on their bikes. And they did it all in homemade unicorn outfits.

Official pic by the race photog. Note the unicorn horn, completely airborn, and fingers off the brakes completely.

Taken right after the last girl finished her lap!

Seems unfair that our girls raced against 17-18 year olds. But they didn't give a shit.
That pic from the race photog is pretty great! And props to your girls for the strong showing. My oldest is just barely figuring out skis and the Strider this year. She just turned 2, and our youngest is one week old. It's nice to see what we can expect in the future if we keep doing it right.
Damn, that's cool. Props to your kid and to you.
This is the greatest photo in the history of mountain biking.
My little guy has been killing it lately.

Dan, your little guy is beyond killing it.
We are on month 15 of this insane adventure and about 3-5 wks from #2 showing up. This by far the most fun I've had and so challenging and yet, rewarding. Love my dude.
Dan, holy shit did he send that. How old is he?
Wow, big air!
He turned 7 in January. That whole day was amazing so I put together a little edit.

Two weekends later he hit the next feature on that line which is a pretty big drop.

Dan's kid (5 years old, right?) is hitting shit that I won't ever hit.
Thing One setting her PR in the Longjump this morning.....3.98M. She's 12.
