Love the last 2 Arno!!!
Here are a few from walking around today. I actually went to shoot Occupy Boston, which I did, but got a few frags as well. All shot with the roki 85.

advres, I see in your EXIF that you're shooting with a 50mm. Which 50 is it? The Canon 1.2, Canon 1.4, Sigma 1.4, or something else?
It is the rokinon 85 1.4. Since it is a complete manual lens the camera can't communicate with it so it just defaults to listing it as 50mm and 00 for aperture. The 7D does the same thing when I put my 8mm manual lens on. I was actually asked once how I got a 50mm to "look so fisheyed" by someone :D
and how do you like the rokinon advres?

Love it freak. It can be hard focusing in bright backfacing sunshine since you need to use live view mode but I usually carry my magnetic loupe with me so I have no issues. Even with the pretty nice viewfinder on the 7D it is just hard to pull a good focus without using live view. So it definitely isn't a run an gun since it is full manual and a long focal length but if you take your time it is awesome.
hm, i somehow dont really like using liveview when using the slr and do so very little. if you say that focusing even with the 7d is hard, i guess i might not be able to focus at all throughthe tiny viewfinder of my tiny slr. thats why i never really considered those lenses, even if they seem to be really nice and you can get them very cheap too. i might try the fisheye at some point, i guess nearly anything is gonna be in focus with that one :P
here are some from el calafate while we were waiting for the weather to change so that we could get a plane to buenos aires...

I feel slightly awkward shooting in an urban environment, but I've been trying to take the camera around town more often.

Spent the last couple of weeks in Chicago. Without the ability to practice where I live, I struggled often to "see" urban shots.
1. Somewhere along State Street:

2. Saw a ton of DSLRs around:

3. Staying downtown provided easy access to the urban scenes:

4. Gray days were the norm:

5. Visiting old haunts (near our old apartment):

6. All the rain did provide some good reflections...

7. ...as well as good night-time lighting:

8. View from the Sears Tower (just cannot bring myself to call it the Willis Tower). I shot this hand-held, and it turned out better than the one I shot on a tripod -- not only was this one earlier (so better light), but the longer exposure on the tripod meant more camera flashes bouncing off the glass and more time for unexpected reflections to show up:

9. Bike rental -- saw only a few of them around the city, and don't think I ever saw anyone on one:

10. Crown Fountain:

11. The cloudy days prevented the bright shiny daytime shots of the Bean, so I went in the evening, which provided some terrific reflections:

12. For the second week we moved just south of the river, and had great views from the room:
