^^agreed, just like in a building, the strength doesn't come from the concrete but the rebar running inside. But if you couldn't figure out how to make it to a hardware store to find steel wool I would think twice about doing this yourself.

Thanks all for the continued advice. This question was resolved weeks ago. Those wishing to do some dickwaving and prove how manly they are by knowing where to buy steelwool, please continue to post in this thread to make yourself feel better about yourself. If my lack of manliness is able to do anything for your self-esteem, I am more than happy to help :wink:. In the meantime, I'll continue to live in a high-rise in downtown Vancouver, drink my lattes and rinse SOS pads.
