How gay is it if I work at Starbucks?

I put a bukkake-ridden shinjuku on Wal Mart somewhere between here and here.

A point I think being missed in this thread is that Hardrider should work wherever he needs to work for his own economic reasons. Sure, corporations are evil and as such should not be supported depending upon one's morals, but I personally will never be above any job if my need is great enough.

I went to grad school with too many spoiled brats (especially my ex-GF) who refused to wait/bus tables when their $ got tight because it was beneath them since they were pursuing an advanced degree. I say fuck that. If I need $, I'll clean toilets. A job is a job if you need one bad enough. In my opinion, the amjority of unemployed people are nothing more than lazy and arrogant, as employment at McDonalds et al is readily available in almost any locale if one REALLY needs money.

Starbucks can put a coffee shop wherever they want for all I care. I dislike the culture surrounding Starbucks. The semi-elitist, SUV driving, soccermom crowd. Or in the case of the Starbucks on the Ave, the frat/sororiety, semi-elitist, look at my fancy clothes bullshit that seems to be present there.

We can stop admiring them when they lose sight of their roots. I personally think Starbucks has.

I guess it boils down to the fact that I don't like the vibe in Starbucks, never have, never will. And I like to support small, local business because I feel that the level of service and quality of goods I recieve is better.

Word. Even though I dislike Walmart and Starbucks, if it boiled down to it I'd surely take a job there, especially if I could pull some ass (thats in the contract right?).

I'd actually like to get a job at a restaurant, seems like a good skill to have.

Here's the real question - if you work at the Starbucks at Squaw, will they give you a pass? I'd base my decision on that more than anything else. If I had to dress up like Liberace and paint toenails all night at a place that gave me a $1400 ski pass, game on!

Frankly, I think you should go for it. You'll have a ton of ladies coming your way through the casino, good tips, and full bennies. Insurance isn't cheap nowadays and that's a huge bonus when you do the stupid shit we do on the hill.

1) Close to where you live.
2) It will definitely be a busy and fun to place to be all winter.

Although it is bad form, you might want to ask how the schedule works. Try to figure out if you will be able to get a week of every now and then to go to JH/Utah.

I'd put in a vote for waiting tables over Starbucks. Harder work, but if you can find a fancy restaurant in the casino (?) you can bank tips and work with all hot chicks. Said hot chicks will be much more interested in partying with Señor Kush than the phd toting, faux Euro-trash, gauloise-smoking, yuppie crowd that I see working at Starbucks...
