I just wanted to drop a post and thank everyone for there positive words and prayers for my brother Jim. Jim always wanted to enjoy every minute of his life. He traveled all over the lower 48, canada, Alaska and South America in search of an adventure. Jim loved not just skiing, but the pure freedom of life that
we all have and should all pursue. My best days skiing were spent with Jim. I know that he will be there beside me on the first chair of the season. Jim, we all wish you an endless adventure, good travels and deep snow.

I read this in the local paper.. Jim grew up about 10 minutes from me. I am pretty sure I met him in the park at Wachusett one day maybe 2 years back.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and friends.

Having been in Las Lenas during the Santa Rosa storms. I can definitely say anyone who was skiing there was standing up and living. RIP

What makes us tick???

Maybe it's the synergistic relationship that we unknowingly are a part of and, as the common denominators of the sport, have created ....that the sum of the parts is greater than the whole and one loss permeates throughout the brotherhood with effects and deep hurt as if one whom we may or may not have personally known is a loss that is felt down to the essence of our souls.

It might also be called empathy....knowing that somewhere people are suffering at the loss of their brother, their son, their friend.

You should be asking what makes you tick to even wonder why anyone else would be mourning.

I read through the articles and his brother's site. It has shaken me slightly because this kid sounds like a carbon copy of myself. Young, loving life, and traveling the world. It is certainly a reminder...and who knows, maybe that reminder will be what keeps me safe this winter.

way to put it into words splizzat. any time a fellow skier/snowboarder/telemarker loses their life doing what i consider to be the reason i am on this earth i can't help but feel sorrow. we might have no clue who these people are, but we know what they loved. and that makes us all brothers and sisters.
