We should be true to our roots and have a summit at Holly
We could grab some chairs and just sit by the lifts and watch the choas and drink beer.
That gets my vote.

I can say with 90% confidence that a sled could be provided........but even if not the hills are hikable, and king mountain has a lot of gladed stuff that some tele guys cleared out a few years ago.....Mid to late February would be ideeal.
Plus, we should not forget the Studio 10 Factor in the Soo. For those not in the know, Studio 10 is a marginal everything comes off strip club right across the border. It is sometimes good, othertimes very sketchy....but the beer is always cold and there are $10 CDN lapdances.....$20 CDN and you can touch (so I've heard).;)

[B]are you offering a boat?
Yes, I have a Nautique and a cabin on Lake James. If there is any interest we could do it in the next couple of weekends.
Nohills: Sunrise is by far the best time, but you can go later.
Shredhead, I may be up at Pokagon SP this weekend. My folks are going camping with their RV at either Pokagon or Chain O'Lakes, and I thought I would drive my son up to do some Kyaking and chilling round a camp fire.
Will you be around?
Come on, no votes for Ski Sundown or Paoli Peaks?!?!?
PAOLI, sweet, carharts and starter jackets. If anyone actully want to go there, it is only a few hours away for me, I'll head down, but not be happy about it.
Indy, I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you live in indy. I'm over the river in Louisville. Do you ski Paoli much? If so we should hook up sometime. I never thought I would hear got change at "the peaks". I need to move, I'm not looking forward to another season in kentucky.Quote:

micro summit 2005 at PAOLI PEAKS..... we should make sure to plan it during a powder week:rolleyes:
Big E are you from around here as well?
used to live in Indy, now up the road in Lafayette. I ski Paoli maybe once a year, but have not been down there in a season or two. The High priced tickets for shit skiing just ar not that attractive, but give the right conditions, the place isn't too bad if the park is in decent shape. Not that I'm a park rat or anything.
If you head up there this winter shoot me a PM and we'll change a nickle.

Naah, I don't waste my time on that little stuff when I've got the awe-inspiring mountains of Maryland out my back door. :rolleyes:Quote:

But, my dad's family lives out in WI/MN, and after many, many driving trips out between here and there (albeit in the summer), I've stopped to look at quite a few of them.
On a related note, I'll be making another of those road trips next month. Probably stop in Urbana, IL or thereabouts on the way out. Anyone near there? Who's out in MSP or LaCrosse? Might have a chance to grab a beer, or even better maybe get out on a mountain bike.
I'm at school about an hour from MSP and parents live about an hour from Lacrosse...
Bohemia totally depends on when you hit it, we haven't really had any "good" snow years since the first season it opened...the weather's been all fukked up like somebody else already mentioned in this thread.Quote:

anyways, i'm down for bohemia...and i guess i'd drive to indianhead area....
This gets my vote then with a sled we could tear up the ob in Searchmont with or without a sled. It would be great to go with people that actually want to look outside of Searchmont.Quote:

Big E, if you do come through I live about an hr west of lacrosse and hr south of MSP in Rochester. I'd be up for a little biking or a beer to meet another maggot since we seem to be few and far between here in the midwest. I know at least one other around here who'd be up for a little fun too.

Have you skied Perfect North? It's not a bad place.
I'm about 45 mins away from paoli so the season pass and once or twice a week is my game. I'll pm you if it gets good this year. I'm no park rat either but it is deff. better than most.Quote:

I have over the years. It's not bad at all, yet it's a hour further and the season passes are twice as much. $189 for paoli is already too much.Quote:

Big E, I'm in Champaign IL, a stones throw from Urbana. Lemme me know when you're coming through, we could hook up for a beer
Count me in from Minneapolis.
