Clinton's, Obama's, and Kennedy's speeches have been my favorites during the convention so far. Obama's was most impressive for being from a newcomer.
I thought Gore's and Dean's speeches were both quite disappointing. Teresa Heinz-Kerry's was not bad for a speech from a first-lady.

Bill Clinton has transcended the generalization of "politician" and, in my opinion, has become somewhat of a demogogue. Regardless of party or your feelings about the guy, he has a way to reach into people and light a fire (good or bad).
Obama's speech was so strong that if it were given by someone more established, it would probably go down in history as one of the greatest rally cries of all times. Who knows...if Obama keeps ascending, the speech will probably be conidered just that. I am excited to see where he goes.
I just read today that Obama is running for the Senate unopposed. He DID have an opponent, but that opponent was Jack Ryan, the guy that gave up after the flap about trying to make his ex-wife perform sex acts at sex clubs! Yes, his ex-wife was Jeri Ryan of Star Trek:Voyager and Boston Public Fame.
J- Obama is Protestent Christian.
Also in the not-well-spoken category: Rumsfeld, Cheney, Rice... the whole admin has an issue with it somehow (save Powell). Their PR people must have some pretty high blood pressue these days!

There is a lot to CB's opinion though. The convervative party has a lot of Raegan Cubano constituents who could prolly serve well (though I can't name any who are high up in the party).

I will answer though. I enjoyed the "one america" theme, it embodies what this country was founded on. Of course you can't take it too far, but it is a great rallying point for the DNC.
Yeah. I red about that guy. I like Obama. I hope he does well, but that Jack Ryan guy sure got the karmic beat-down. He did take Jeri to sex clubs, and he did want her to have sex at those clubs... with him. He never pushed her to do anything with anyone else. He just got off doing her in public. If he was my representative, I wouldn't care at all about it. It seems pretty harmless stuff. But, since he's a Republican, he who lives by the sowrd, dies by the sword, so they say...Quote:

The obvious answer is that she never filed charges... but often women don't in rape case, plus the fact she's a celibrity would have been a disaster. So who knows?

The "one America" is an ideal. It's the principle on which our country was founded, and it is what our country SHOULD be.
The "two Americas" is the reality today. The have's are getting more, and the have-not's are falling by the wayside. The concentration of politcal-economic power in this country is consolidating.
They are not mutually exclusive themes--in fact, they meld together quite nicely.
