Lookin to do tucks this weekend. What special gear do you need this time of year? (ice ax, crampons etc.) How long of a hike to the base of tucks? Thanks for the info.
Wow - sick TR, you guys were killing it. Conditions look WAY better (softer) than they were when we got up there the week before last.
That's tuck done right.
Sic TR. that looked like a blast.
It was a very solid weekend. We ate like kings and got to see friends new and old. It was fun to knock off a bunch of my personal goals by skiing some of the classic lines around tucks and by going fast and doing some of the lines in the bowl. Things went really well with line selection and execution there weren't really any bad close calls for anyone in the group. The scariest part of the trip for me was longboarding the big hill on the way back and getting the speed wobbles around 40 mph, now that sucked. I'll have to tighten up the trucks next time. I'm also glad that nobody who tried to follow our lines got hurt, there were plenty of people trying to send our lines without scoping them well and without committing to the line. The worst part of the trip for me was watching someone hike out of the big diagonal line in the bowl after following my and soul's tracks. Its around 55 degrees, over huge exposure, and icy. There were even people lining up to drop the cliff soul originally hit on lookers right. Most of them ate it but a few t-shirt clad people without helmets managed to send it to the floor. I'm sure that tucks patrol had their stomachs in their throats all day. All in all it was a great trip, it was fun to experience the Saturday shitshow too. Next year however I'm going to try to get even more time up there before the inferno while the runouts are still good.
did anyone see a 7 foot tall goofy as fuck guy with apaches slide down a ways while climbing the headwall on Sat? report tells me a buddy nearly cleaned house while resting during the climb. he said it was a great time with some mag type rippers going big. sorry i missed it but , the Mirimachi was calling. Great TR!
The UVM boys killed it up there Saturday, got things started off with some nice hucks and straightlines. I knew that had to be you guys. I saw who I now know was Allen on the hike up with the full face and squads and knew something good was going to go down. I saw his post saying what you guys were skiing after I got back from the weekend, wish I had said hi, I was about two feet from you guys on lunch rocks in the morning. (Line Prophets, bright green Smith hat).
The tele dude with the pink hair was also killing it. His huck of the waterfall and backslap, not after the huck, but at the end of the straightline was sick.
No pics of me from this weekend?
I know I don't have greg's orange hey-everyone-look-at-me-from-across-the-bowl suit, but then again i wasn't turning and he was... :p
i guess my lines were just better than yours ben (even though i followed you into and through the one line i hit with you guys that was maybe-actually-picture-worthy, and you had to convince me to sack up and do it... maybe it's time for some new clothes)
You just need to stop thinking so much Greg. You Dartmouth students and your thinking. Also get lazier, its way easier not to turn than to turn. You see its actually pretty easy to straightline, just think less and be lazy.
no thanks... i'll keep turning
Very very very nice!
Sick MEGA GNAR!
I got a chill down my spine looking at that pic of you guys skateboarding down that monster hill - in SHORTS and tee shirts, no less. That brought back some repressed teenage memories of big hills and loose trucks from which I still bear scars... Wiping out on pavement, at speed.... ughh.
Anyhow, awesome TR. Looks like you guys pretty much slayed it again this year :fm: nice work
Holy shit.
That looks fun as hell!
Sick TR - can't wait to hit up tux again this year.
Bad ass at Tux... nice work.
It was fun watching you guys all day. Every time you would send it, the Inferno crew I was timing with would get all excited. I told them I knew you guys and that you were all a bunch of real famous internet skiers and that if they wanted introductions, I could get my people to talk to your people.
;)
Ridiculously good!
Sweet! They're making another Christmas vacation movie?
