That sort of hugeness was easily worth blowing two knees for! Gawd daym.
239m to stomp, that blows my mind that 1 m makes the difference in the amount of tranny needed to stick it

Are those Metrons he's on?
^^ Linky broken
what's with all the saplings?
the dude who beatered at the start... if you listen closely you can hear the thwap thwap thwapping of the little trees smacking him in the junk.
Yes, that is it exactly. The red line you see screaming underneath that dude is the K point or critical point where the transition starts to seriously flatten out. If too many dudes fly past it they scrub the round and lower the start.
That was approx. 730 feet in the air. I figure when he realized he was still 10-15 feet off as he flew the K his asshole puckered so hard it ate his nuts
that's.
fucking.
huge.
but is anal breakage worth the bragging rights of that one??
Being from Norway where ski jumping has a long and proud history, I've seen my fair share of these competitions, in real life and on tv. Planica, where this clip is from, has a k-point of 215 meters, meaning this guy flew 25 meters past that
Points are given for length and style. There are 5 judges that give the style points, where 20 is the perfect jump (which also needs a certain length for the 20 to be given. The highest and lowest score is deleted. I think they deduct 10 points each for a fall and 3 points for a parallel landing. For max points you need to make a telemark landing. Apart from that it's all about even, steady skis, steady arms close to the body etc. This sport is not for possies, that's for sure. Just check out some of the crash videos on youtube.
um, ouch
This one's pretty awesome.

Did he out jump Eddie the Eagle?
This sends shivers down my spine, but I did have to watch it twice.
If i skiied skis that long, i would be such a baller.
Check out this compilation of ugly falls(but no serious injuries) and some of the longest jumps:

This seriously blows my mind:
Now that is rad. Holy shit.
You guys need to see the carnage in this vintage video. Two of the guys never competed again. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tFs7jVgUeDo
