Definitely made me feel some kind of way. I climb slow as shit and am pretty accustomed to getting passed on climbs. Other guys mentioned some great passing announcements. I find treating people like people and not obstacles will get you farther with less animosity.
Agree on all counts and "bike!" guy is a douche. Communication can be hard even for those who know that and try to consider it carefully but I don't know why anyone would go with that tactic.
Seeing it again makes me think "whenever you're ready" sounds pretty passive aggressive.

But as soon as I pass, I make sure to yell "see ya later, bitches!" just to assert dominance.

Usually if you say "nice ass - can I pass?" the dude or girl ahead of you will stop very very quickly.
honestly i didnt know about the uphill rider having right of way until the buidler told me a couple years ago, I don't think many people up here know cuz uphill riders pull over so I explain to " actualy you have the right-of-away "

1: Cough or clear your throat loudly, backpedal to buzz your hub, grab a squeaky brake. Whatever natural sound you can make from a ways off to let an attentive trail user that another user is coming up on them from a ways off.
2: "Mind if i sneak by when you get a chance? no rush." Proceed to hang back a few bike lengths so that they dont feel rushed into making a bad choice of where to pull over/off.
3: "Thanks, have a great ride!" proceed to the ride with no stops at the faster pace for at least 15 more minutes. No one likes the asshole who just does interval rides and continuously leapfrogs with you.

Not sure where the "Bike" thing comes from. I know calling out "Track" was an XC race thing that was understood back in the day.
I've never had a problem using, "can I get past when you get a chance?"

Most people do the Camino pilgrimage on foot but its great on a bike and some people even ride horses
but all those fucking pilgrims on foot are plugged in or meditating or SFT so they can't hear and you pass hundreds of them every day for 3 weeks, the road should be wide enough but they are walking 3 or 4 abreast so if you pass without a warning you scare the fuck out of them and maybe they jump in the way
they don't hear a normal warning device like a bell but what works every time is hit the brakes for a small skid at about 30 ft out

DT Swiss Freehubs. It use to be a simple solution, now its all fawked up.
Old way was two simple options, 3 pawl OR Ratchet.
Now its:
3 Pawl
Ratchet (traditional system)
Ratchet EXP (new 1 star system)
Ratchet LN (on cheaper 370 series hubs)
Trying to upgrade a clients bike to SRAM XPLR and I have 9 different DT Freehubs and none are the correct one.
The one I need is not in stock, so it's easier (and almost cheaper) to buy a wheel with the right freehub, and pull it off.
I'd kind of assumed the ratchet LN and standard/older double ratchets on the 350 etc were maybe the same and compatible.
But yeah freehub bodies and endcaps being specific to different hubs is pretty annoying when they could probably just all be the same. I wanted to put torque caps on my trek wheels (with dt hubs) and just kind of had to guess which ones were right. Did get it on the first try but yeah had to dig through the dt site and use a different distributor we don't order from much to get them.
e-oh, ratchet ln moved the seal to the freehub instead of the shell so that's different at least.
