6 isn't very close to 4th of July Lake ... you know if you can check in with Patrol at Top of 2 before bouncing from there? I'll call Patrol later to verify ...

^^^I know the urge. Every time I hike past those lines, I think, I need to get out here and ride some.
Is 2 staying open? In the past, it closed with 3 and 4.
Knee deep blower at the wood, the snow just stopped. There is a lot of wind scour and 6' wind drifts mixed with hard bottom pow and some bottomless.
Nom nom nom nom
Owen's run is about 40 sec. into this video and Mike's run is at the 1 minute mark:

FWIW, Dad did go first and was waiting at the bottom in case anything went wrong, but Amanda and Co. had it covered.
Pre-Skim GAME FACES! Dad is really trying not to act scared in front of the boy:

After he warmed up for a bit he got back in the saddle and was contemplating adding "Bulldogger" to his resume:

That kid cracks me up!
Today was just deep enough to be really fun. Was snowing pretty hard still on the way home, follow the wind tomorrow and it should be good. Also 80 was a total shitshow today. Road wasn't bad at all but lots of peeps going way to fast and paying for it. Also the corvette trying to convince caltrans he had AWD and holding everything up was a nice touch.
Gnarthstar was lazertits today. Full-on Nice on Ice/Fluff on Scruff/Pow on Ow.
Failed attempt at hitting White Rabbit with a patrol escort led to some sweet untouched lines on the Prosser boundary (WR, though open, was still a mess of rocks, winded ice, and nastiness). Lottsa tic/tac/toe lines in the trees offa Lookout, too. Buttered The Biscuit with a small crew of 5, which was sweet (it's been virtually untracked since the last couple of storms) and still managed to find some fresh slots in Camp Glades. Ran into JLA415, as well, rockin' some sweet lookin' 4Frnt joints. Good times and no crowds.
^^^ I hit white rabbit after I saw you and found some good turns... It was my first time in there and would have been even better if I knew where I was going
GiBo
I am not working Fri. Owen and I are skiing. I have a ticket for you and your son.
pm
Squaw was game on today.
Pow pow pow
No lift lines
Prett good visibility until about 1pm when it started to storm even harder!
Rose was awesome today! The Chutes were off the charts with face shots in the morning.
awesome pond skim shots.
Did the ignore feature go away with vbulletin version.4.whatever? There's a lot of content here which I couldn't give two shits about, and is making my piece of shit iphone load this thread even slower.
I only give two shits about kirkwood or SLT shit.
/\
Winning!
lots of kirkwood and slt shit here
tr-spring has spronged
allez-vous demain kirkwood
Hey so there was a miscommunication with my friend a while back and I accidentally bought him a college ticket at Kirkwood when he didn't need one. So now I have this 40$ voucher that I dont want because I will be in WA until June 10th.
Pretty much the way these people said it works is you take it to the counter and you can redeem it for a ticket with proof of college enrollment (or if you are not currently enrolled, it simply just works as a 40$ gift card sorta thing for tickets only, I believe).
First PM in my inbox takes it. If I run into at mammoth in June or July id appreciate a beer?
Cheers
Does this work?
I'd say chair 6 may open on time, chair 10 after that. The backside? Who knows. Get over 88 early if you are coming from the south, before avy control, and always carry chains while driving in the mountains because it's dumping shit loads right now.
Sorry about the pond skim stoke, but it's April. Stop crying.
Wow! what a sleeper day at Squaw. Not the best pow day of the year but the best day for terrain opening and no lines all year! I got 8 silvys 2 BA's 5 Kts and 5 Headwalls so i cant complain. By the afternoon, gate 5 was knee deep and still untracked. Hiked out towards tower 1 for last run right as the sky was breaking, pretty magical way to finish an epic low vis day!
Also any beta on what spun today at alpine? I am trying to decide between an alpine hiking day and a donner summit day for manana
Ticket went to powfiend
Squaw rawked today. Nice and crisp early, a little sun, got a little heavier and snowier after noon, but overall awesome, ski onto the lifts, like powfiend said.
Anybody out near downieville, sierra city etc wanna give me a guesstimate of how much snow the buttes got out of this last storm? Any idea where the snow level might be? Pretty much any beta beyond walk to sardine lake and ski from there would be appreciated.
Hoping to hit it sunday conditions pending.
