This is what I wanted to hear. I have a hole in my quiver for a somewhat playful ski that can still handle firm conditions. I'll have to keep an eye out for a pair of these to demo. Thanks for the review.

Been thinking I kinda wish I had gotten the Rustler 9 instead of the brahmas and that kind of confirms it.
Had the Rustler 9s out today in firmer conditions and they were great. Have them sharp tip/tail with a 1/3 tune and they aren’t catchy at all. Pivot when you want and great grip on edge.
Brahma will be a more powerful, damp ski with even better edge hold on harder snow than the Rustler 9. Fantastic ski that’s more “serious” than the Rustler 9. Both great skis.
26.5, it’d take surgery to size down to 25.5

Awesome, looking forward to checking them out. Don’t tell the dynastar gods.

OK, I switched form the 118 to the 192 Rustler 11s and I'm content, I think. Much better ski, and pretty damp for how light it is. It's not a total crud destroyer though as it doesn't have the heft to make that happen, but it's pretty damn good and I guess I'm fine with compromising for the weight savings. And it has a stiffer tail which I enjoy.
I only have one day on the 192 so I can't say much overall except it's a lot more stable than the 188. Just a heads up for anyone else who is thinking of getting one. And I said before, the 188 is not THAT bad.
The idea of a 192 burlier version is intriguing. Post an update after you have some more days on them.
Also, some of us are more than happy with the less burly little brother. [emoji16]

I knew I should stay away from this thread. Just ordered the 188 R 10 from Corbetts. After selling my unmounted Cochise and giving away my beat up pair to a pal, I thought I could be happy skiing my Nordica El Capo, but that thing skis like a dead fish. Hoping the R 10 will team well with my 13/14 Bodacious.
So what’s new for the next season in Blizzards freeride line. Same same and just new graphics or any substantial changes?
From this link https://www.freeride.se/bildspecial-...idor/#image-39 (posted in the gear 19/20 thread) I see a bushwacker (thought that one had been gone for a while) and no Bodacious or Cochise.... but I assume at least the cochise is still inthe lineup?
the do look pretty damn nice graphic wise for next year though - very clean and a definite step in the right direction from the past two seasons :) Not that the current ones look bad - they do not, these are just looking even better imo. Though I guess more importantly, they are hard to dislike - so pretty broad appeal for lots of folks.

Sheeva graphics for next year are IMO, the best executed 19/20 graphics.
What are the changes to the Rustler 10 for next year?
Think it would make a good ski great if it was better at higher speed and heavier.
Rustler 9 wins the line up for me on appearance. Green 3 ways. Slick!
Bushwacker has been around last two years. Reintroduced it two years ago as Brahma CA, changed name in 18/19 to Bushwacker
Bodacious and Cochise come back. Bodacious continues with all black graphic.
It’s a beefier construction than a Latigo, not along lines of a Brahma. But similar I guess.
Yup it gets slightly heavier. 100-150 grams, can’t remember. Slightly different core configuration. Similar ski just deflects a little less at speed and shit conditions.
I really like everything from the black pearls on the left to the sheeva 11 on the right, especially that sheeva 11 and rustler 11. Great graphics and IMO much better than years past, especially compared to like 5-6 years ago.

Couchsurfing, you were talking about changing the cochise?
Still plans to do that?
Just mounted up some Brahmas last night. They feel stout for sure - I haven't had a metal free ride board in a while. Looking forward to getting them on the corduroy!
I destroyed pow bumps all day with mine. Such a versatile ski.

Im looking for this years Cochise in a 185 and a Bonafide in either 180 or 187. Anyone have a deal?

Thought I'd post this here. We just had a great experience with Blizzard's Warranty dept. My wife broke her Cheyanne's. There was a crack along the base lengthwise, maybe 1/2 the length of the ski. Called Blizzard and they are sending a new pair out. I would put my experience right up there with Pataguccia - which is saying something.
edit: sold
Cross posting...Bonafide 187 for sale. Drilled for STH (1) at 306 bsl. $225 shipped USA. Very nice shape.

i guess i'm the odd man out, I think the new graphics are super boring and bland. def prefer this years. Other than the fact that I wish the Rustler 11's were basically any color other than that green.
I agree.

Sometimes less > more...
I agree though...kinda boring. I don't mind boring however.
FWIW, they are boring but Blizzard in 2019 is no longer Blizzard in 2009. Brand recognition and appeal has grown a ton. They don’t necessarily have the freedom of Line/Armada/Moment/ON3P in the graphics department. I doubt they are going to loose many sales on graphics, something which hasn’t necessarily been true over the last 10 years.
They do however pop much more in person than via photos. Topsheet texture gives them some depth. I’m a fan of the Rustler series in person.
Whoo boy. Just picked up a pair of the 18/19 188 Rustler 10s to compliment my 188 Rustler 11s. Really looking forward to skiing them. Now I just need to find a good pair of those OG orange FKS 188s.
Will post a comparison review when I get a minute.
Feel like I finally have a quiver dialed. Skied my 185 Cochise today and remembered how much fun it is to go fast on those. Rustler 10s, 11s and Cochise is gonna be a pretty sweet setup for me at Alta.
Got myself some Brahmas (first Blizzard ski for me), impressed with the build quality.
The Brahma is a weapon! Bumps, hardpack it slays it all. 187s mounted at +2 for pivots. I have another mount (inserts) at +0,5 for shifts, curious how different it will ski there and how they will handle 20-30cm of fresh. Overall super happy, really want to try the rest of the line now. Bummer we dont have any local demo days.
How do you choose between those 3? They all seem somewhat similar? Asking because I used to ski the 1st gen cochise a lot and have been thinking about maybe going back to the current one or maybe trying a rustler 11. This would be an every day snowbird ski.
What is your height/weight? Im 6’200lbs riding the 180 Brahma’s. Sometimes I wish they were the 187’s just to have a bigger sweet spot and more grip on ice. But I went with 180’s for maneuverability in tight bumps.
I want to add the new Bonafide to my quiver as well but im undecided on length. My local shop has 187’s and they hand flex much stiffer than the 187 Brahma. But 180 just seems short in my mind.

The Rustler 10 has peaked my interest but I already have a Kartel 108 and Deathwish in that spot. The Bonafide will fill in the 98 width spot as a hard snow ski in a 2 ski travel bag. I usually travel to Jackson, Bridger, Crested Butte, Taos given the year.
