I seen Buffy Sainte-marie at the Edge of the World festival on Haida Gwai last week
I didn't realize she had written all the hit songs or that she had been black listed by both the johnson & nixon administrations which is awesume credentials
she is still rocking at age 75 and she looked good!

Run DMC at Musikfest in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
It was great to see them still doing their thing.
Jam Master Jay's son was the DJ.

Sturgill Simpson puts on a damn good show, even if it is only one set with no encore.
The Wood Brothers are awesome. So is this place http://stonemountainartscenter.com/
With all the Canadians on this board it's hard to believe there's no talk of the Hip. Anyway, went to the show here in Calgary on Aug. 1st which was show number 20 something for me for them and shitgoddamn was it something. Will be tuning into the CBC tomorrow for the Kingston show with the rest of Canada.
Al Di Meola put on a great show last night in Brookfield, WI at the Wilson Center for the Arts. He played an electric set followed by an acoustic set and finished with some of his popular, well known stuff. Lots of energy.
Haven't seen him since his visit with Return to Forever in 1977(?) at Summerfest.
Jeff Beck did not disappoint at the Woodland Park zoo last night. Buddy Guy was supposed to be on the ticket, but was absent for some reason. Great show non the less. One less show on my bucket list.
Great show by Zac Brown Band at Fenway park this weekend. They covered "Enter Sandman" by Metallica, the lead singer for Dropkick Murphy's helped out with "Shipping Up to Boston" and for the encores, they played "Lets go Crazy" by Prince as well as "Homegrown". Awesome band, great time :)
Had a great week of music.

Old Crow Medicine Show absolutely killed it at Red Butte in Salt Lake. Followed a few days later with some serious jams by Gov't Mule and Moe at Red Rocks

For the record that ain't stage smoke - them Coloradans like their weed.
Steve Earle and Shawn Colvin delivered tonight. First few songs, from their new album, were meh. Then they started telling good stories, loosening up, and playing some of their own stuff. I could call out the price and sound, but those two did right.

Could most certainly call out the lighting guy as well obviously-
I'll be seeing them in a couple of weeks.
saw Lucinda WIlliams Friday. Absolutely love her music. So authentic. Great little venue and sound.
Also spent the weekend listening to and watching the Lock'n stream, which was incredible. Turkuaz, Vulfpack, Phish, Phil, CRB, Tedeschi Trucks absolutely killed, amazing festival that if you could guarantee the weather I'd buy for next year as soon as they go on sale.
Claypool Lennon Delirium last night. Those two are birds of a feather, great show.
Played two King Crimson covers, thela Hun ginjeet and in the court of the Crimson King
Sunn O))) ... so loud, so good.

Jason Fucking Bonham and this Sammy dude at Red Rocks. Great show, too much VH and not enough Sammy stuff but still great.

Echo and the Bunnymen on Friday night at the 930 Club. Great show, and ian's voice was still pretty on point since it was only the 2nd night of the tour.

Tedeschi Trucks Band 2 nights ago. Everyone was creaming for "Angel from Montgomery", but the real juice was when they played "Bitches Brew".
Black Sabbath in Oakland last night was fucking great! The sound was perfect and Ozzy was even on key for most of the show. Just outstanding!
Who would have thunk it?! Was listening to them in 1972... amazing shit.
Cheep trick / Blackhearts / Heart sat. When you censure the stupid ass 80s power ballad crap there's some quality here. "you don't have to love me yet, and lets get high a while...."
Debating Laid back fest in a few weeks...
greensky bluegrass last night, fresh take on old timey music
Adele in the city.
She probably is the best singer I've ever seen in person.
Simply amazing.

Best festival concert ever. So many good bands. Highlights for me where Black Cobra, Yob, Elder, Electric Wizard. Best new bands (to me) Yawning Man + Fatso Jetson, Desert Mountain Tribe, 1000mods, Truckfighters!
http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...b9e552e0fb.jpg
That's quite the list. I've been enjoying 1000mods and truckfighters, I'll look into the other two.
It's cool to see subrosa on that list
Took advantage of that TM settlement and scored my free lawn tix to see Def Leppard, REO Speedwagon & Tesla.
I love me some Tesla but unfortunately missed half their set fighting the traffic.
Hadn't seen REO since 1980 and haven't missed 'em. Too many ballads but Ridin' The Storm Out was fun.
And while not a big a fan of Def Leppard, (On Through The Night rules!!!), they do have their moments.
i'm always surprised to find really excellent bands that i otherwise never heard. 1000mods reminded me of kyuss a bit. truckfighters were amazing live. so much energy, pure rock. i liked subrosa too but the death metal vocals from one of the violinists just made me chuckle a few times.
Dinosaur jr. was at the Depot in downtown SLC last night. It was freaking awesome! Anyone else make it?
Buddy Guy
