I’ve done a small amount of research. So please start it.
Your first several videos are going to be throw-aways, so plan accordingly.

The best reference I found on the subject is Skiing Mechanics by John Howe (once in a while you can find it for cheap):
https://www.amazon.ca/New-Skiing-Mec.../dp/0935240020
This podcast by Jurij Franko is also interesting:

Neither really cover modern ski design (i.e., last 20 years) with rocker, reverse camber/sidecut, etc. It is mostly about carving, sidecut, bending and torsional stiffness, and pressure distribution, which are all super important. It would be fun to have newer material on modern ski design!
You can also learn a lot about ski building here: http://www.skibuilders.com/phpBB2/.
I'd watch/listen for sure!

Definitely interesting. Since it’s a tech talk, graphs and diagrams would be useful, so a purely verbal podcast approach sounds much less interesting to this engineer. Also, decent videos that combine visual and verbal tend to be evergreen and folks will rewatch down the road. I never listen to podcasts twice.
yes, Marshal's podcast / youtube channel sounds like just what the world needs right now.
as in, yes, please, I would love to listen to / watch any content you make!
My vote is podcast, simply because I listen to a lot of podcasts during my work day. Video may be a better match for this type of material though.
I'm with frorider on this one. The topic at hand would be better served by visuals, animated or real, to get the point across.
This is a good point about going back, part of it is the ease of finding places in a video vs a podcast. That said, gaijin makes a good point about the first ones being a throwaway, so maybe a podcast or a video without visuals would be a good way to get a start. Put something out and see what you think needs to change before doing more.
Like a 191 Lhasa Pow?

I love my 191 Lhasas but I think the shape and weight could be refined

only need 1000 subscribers to monitize.. That's like just a few clicks away with some of the alter-egos around here.
I think there’s been some improvement in tip shape and I would love to have something a bit more heavy than my hybrid Lhasas. Maybe that ski already exists? Maybe one sheet of metal.

Sorry, haven't read through all of this, but is that really the aim? A more forgiving version of those kinds of skis, or can people get a true duplicate? Because I wouldn't want to lose anything from the LP as it was originally made (which is why I stockpile them). Can't speak to the other skis...
Didn’t you read? The R99 is supposed to be a mix of Legends and Monsters. I hardly think Marshal would make it a watered down Legend.

alrighty then. I'll give a few youtube videos a go. Only 80% uncomfortable in front of the camera, haha. But it could be good fun. Or wildly embarrassing.
@dex - text me back yo.
Having skied my 186cm Legend Pro's all weekend, after I blew up my Legend Pro 105 184cm, they are easier to ski than I remembered. They just have less sidecut so you gotta actually get the ski on edge and drive it. A bit different than the just roll skis with tons of sidecut and ride that sidecut. Super fun actually.
