We're rolling into Red Lodge on the 30th, skiing the 31st and tentatively the 1st if anyone wants to meet up with a JONG.

Things are always a challenge
For the crew. Part of what makes the basin so doggone special.

Tough place to plan for. I'm going to watch the weather the next couple weeks and if I go it will probably be a last minute decision.
It's almost like someone said, "hey, running a ski area is way too easy... Maybe we should try on a seasonal road around 10,000 feet."
"Okay, but only if there's no grid power, no running water, and avalanche risk to mitigate before we can open for the year."
Yet they make it happen.

Yeah that opening weekend has always been very hit or miss.
EoB, you seeing this? We may get blown out for this weekend. Stay in touch...
That's good news for conditions though. And if they do open the road, lotsa folks may be put off, which means less peeps to start.
We are thinking about heading up to beartooth sometime in the next few wks as well if the conditions look promising. I'll tune more into this thread bc it would be a blast to cross over with the gang here
we haven't been up in a couple yrs- got skunked in late June 2019 and then of course 2020 happened
Crazy weather up there but that is BB. No guarantees except not to expect anything.
The race coach I know showed up on the BB calendar for the week we are going so I went ahead and texted him and he'll let my daughter ski in for as many days as she wants for cheaper than I thought. She is up to agreeing to one day of race camp now to try out her new skis...she'd rather freeski with her beater dad. Lol.
Stokeage.

Just seeing this now, I’ll be locked and loaded ready to roll till the 11th hour. If things don’t pan out it is what it is but I don’t have shit going on this weekend so it would be nice to get out
Like you said, could be money if the weather cooperates enough to give the crews time to clean er up
Haha. If only it were that simple: "but wait, let's make sure the feds are actually responsible for maintaining the road to the parking lot itself, and set up on land owned by an entirely different federal department."

Looks like they are getting closer. My family has a cabin in Cooke City, thinking of sneaking over for a couple days next week.

Thanks T., I had not seen that but that's the first positive message in weeks.
The last second openings are always a bit stressful.
Packed and ready to go mid day tomorrow after some work with Rideit.
Just saw this. Looks like it's on. Have fun whoever makes it there.

Ticket purchased for tomorrow.
Will try to shoot some pics.
Doubt I'll be there on Weds., Teleee.
Would like to connect for some water time this summer tho. I'm always around, holla to meet anytime.
You got it! I think we need to grab Schwerty and get on the water.

Hell yeah!
Are they limiting day tickets or is window walk-up fine? Might make it over there in 2 or 3 weeks.
