Nice day out river bed skipping. Man I love these Rossignal BC 100’s for off piste XC.

This is a long shot but does anyone have a set of over boots that would work with a size 11 Salomon boot with Pilot bindings? It's looking like we are in for a cold snap!
The dog likes to nordork too.

Checking in, the Mrs. and I picked up some Salomon Outpaths after talking about it since moving here. I've nordork'd maybe 5 times in my life, so it should be fun to get my ass kicked this winter.
There's a decent bit of grooming around here, and more ungroomed, should be a good alternative to evenings sitting on the couch getting fat.
Jeese Diggens and Rosie Brennan just took the podium in Davos for the 30K. US ladies rock it.
We finally got some snow so Mrs P and I went out for some k&g.

The owner was grooming tracks on the latter half of our 10k loop which made the skiing much more enjoyable.
Uh, yeah. Named my dog Jessie.
Tonight. Predicted light snow, got 5”:

storm coming in.

Yep, but we’re gonna get hot water, so bummed. Good packed pow conditions to start the season had me standing on the sweet spot at the end of day one, feeling way more in control of both the skis and my pacing this year.
From this afternoon in Grafton VT

freezing rain is fast,
right?
.
It is and if it falls on packed powder with a crust and there is a good chance of it freezing quickly you can have a surface you won't forget for the rest of your SiSSy Stikkin endeavors. I had it many years ago on a snowmobile trail that was 9 miles out with 1.2k of vert. V2 most of the way up and mostly just skating with a V2A here and there for 9 miles back to the truck. No timing or HR devices but I know I've never done 18 miles so fast with so little effort. The surface was firm, wet and a little airy so that about your edges would only make about a 5-10mm incision. Dig that shit!! I have similar conditions between them and and now but not many and none as good
Merry Christmas from Woodstock Nordic!

The princess would rather be skiing lift-served, but powered through with a couple stocking chocolates.
Those aren’t my tracks, I was skiing clockwise loops today, but yes it was tight!
It was fast and firm, took me at least ten minutes to find my feet, after that it was fast V2 for almost 15 miles which I covered at a 6:39 pace! It’s still work keeping the skis under my hips and getting the nice long, straight leg kick onto a nice, flat ski, everyday is better though!
I can’t not use my old HF/LF wax, when it’s gone it’s gone, but today was LF7 with some crayoned in HF7 with the iron set super low. It was fast the whole ski.
