Pretty sure most bike parks and pump tracks are like this. Paved ones maybe even worse adding in scooters and rogue skateboards. Had a few choice words for a 200lb adult on a skateboard enter the pump track in the opposite direction as my daughter was finishing a lap. He fortunately bailed before running into her.

I’ve also been taken out on a dirt pump track by my buddies dog. She does some trail riding, but this was a whole new thing to her.

Sorry I was looking at Circumference. Not diameter:
26 x 2.2 = 670.76
24 x 2.6 = 639.08

So ya, only 32mm difference, 1-1/4".

Who knew there was so many 24" standards:
24" S5
24" E6
24" Terry
24" MTB/BMX

I use that website for cassette gear range calculations, I always over analyze those choices way too much. There, that's my rant for this thread.

Indeed, never heard of lost of those 24” standards. Guess some BMX and maybe beach cruisers?

She did pretty good job riding some wet rocks uphill and then down some pretty techy singletrack on her original 24x2.6 setup yesterday so all in all will be fine. Will look for a 26” frame to hang these off of instead.

Fuckin clicks and creaks.

Last week I pulled suspension apart, replaced two of the bearings, repacked two more, pulled cranks, cleaned and re-greased and torqued everything to spec, also checked headset and stem bolts. Riding today- click, click, click when I stand up and crank on it a bit. Think I know where it's coming from and have a fix I think. But am also concerned it's the csu.

I start with cleats, then work my way to the pedals….

The ankle-bone’s connected to the…shin bone…the shin bone’s connected to the…knee bone…

if its a carbon frame you need carbon paste on the seat post

I was gonna say chainring. Direct mount rings like to creak.

I'm finally said f it with my creaks. I went thru everything I could to no avail. Luckily my shop guy is doing it as a side project at his house because the shop is two weeks out.

I've really had it with broken spokes. Wish I knew why it was happening so much/what I'm doing wrong. Carbon rim, cush core, reasonable tire pressure, only weigh 180 lbs, acceptable line choice, consistently trued/tensioned by a shop after each repair, but still just blowing those things out constantly. I don't think I should have to get a wheel rebuilt this soon

Almost at the hub so it gets the added bonus of shooting the spoke through the rim tape and requiring a trailside cush core removal. Last one happened just while cornering hard, not even doing anything cool. Assuming it's just metal fatigue at this point but the wheel is 1.5 years old and it's a nice wheel with decent spokes, not a cheap pos

If more than 2-3 spokes have broken, and not from something acute - like a stick jamming in there - I’d be rebuilding the wheel with new spokes.

I had same experience last year. Kept braking spokes (about 6-7) on the same wheel. Broke down and bought a whole new set and had it relaced, it's been solid since then.

I just had the greatest creaking experience ever.

This past weekend, Wife and I are on a ride and I keep hearing this light creaking I can't locate. I pump the fork and it creaks. I pump the rear suspension and it creaks. I pedal and it creaks, I turn and it creaks.
It's driving me crazy. Is the whole bike falling apart under me?!
We get to a really tough rocky climb and I get off to carry my wife's bike. As I walk up to her, I hear the creaking. WTF!!! I may be old but I can't literally be creaking!!

I look down and see my wife's bear/mountain lion siren thing that she asked me to wear because she had no place to carry it.
Swinging on the carabiner going creak, creak, creak...

She looks at me and says, "Yeah, it does that. Isn't it annoying?"

X3 on rebuild the wheel. Once spokes start breaking for no apparent reason, the whole wheel is fatigued and spokes are gonna keep breaking.

I think stiffer modern rims are allowing companies to build wheels with lighter weight spokes to save weight. Which is nice in terms of ride quality, but not so nice in terms of durability.

Yeah definitely in rebuild territory. Gonna try to get a warranty on it - I asked my shop about a rebuild and they said given the age of the wheel and number of broken spokes they'd push for a warranty first

What's relacing a wheel tend to cost for labor? Is it about a 2 hour shop task? I just had an unexpected spoke blowout and am curious to see if this continues or not.

$125 in labor at my local shop plus material costs but those should be pretty low

Depends what spokes you use. CX Rays are around $4 / spoke. So $120-ish for a wheel.
