The rustler 11 is a fantastic ski. My new favorite. Got them late last season so only skied them about a half dozen or so days. Can't wait to get on those again. So versatile.
How much top end do you give up compared to the cochise? For how much increase in float?Quote:

Some great r11 love. Yup they just smear easier than cochise while still retaining a little burlyness. Cochise = full super g stability. R11 = soft gs. Not a dentist ski though.Quote:

I was on the OG 185 Cochise and went 188 R11. My buddy who is 40-lbs lighter skied the OG Cochise in 177 and went with the 188 R11. I think GregL skis both the 188 and 180 R11. I could see the 180 being a lot of fun, too. The only place the length of the 188 feels like a liability is in super tight trees, but the 185 Cochise sucks there, too.Quote:

Got the big troubles in college about a decade ago as my first 'real' ski. Finally started getting back up to the mountain last year and picked up the QST to be my main ski. Then I had a cat skiing trip planned last winter so I went to a ski swap and ended up with the Meier's.
I was rocking the Lange RX 120s, then I thought I wanted the possibility of getting into the back country and picked up some lightly used Tecnica Cochise 120s. They felt a little soft for inbounds riding, but I only got one day on them in the spring so not sure how that'll all play out. They're comfy though.
I ski in the PNW and am still sorting out what my quiver should actually be but this is what I'm starting with now that I'm plunging into skiing more and found TGR.

I broke it by doing a 3ft drop into an uphill on a low viz + the flattest light day. Makes sense why it breaks there. Towards the binding it's way thicker and stiffer, towards the nose it's way lighter and more flexible.Quote:
