Cruised from Basalt over McClure Pass to Hotchkiss on Saturday so we could go to Zack's BBQ :D
Took a couple of pics on the ride home just below the top of McClure.

And my other buddy's '06? KTM beast, 900 Adventure.

No real good cruising shots, but all in all a very fun ride with some good BBQ mixed in.
Huh - parallel Twin Rotax? How's it pull?

Whoah, belt drive as well - is there a Telelever front end?
NICE!! I like it.
Mine is a 99 Shadow Ace 1100.

Belt drive for sure, but I don't think it has the telelever front end. I haven't ridden it yet, but he LOVES it. He got rid of a FZ6 for it and much prefers the BMW.
NICE. The 1100 is what I want to upgrade to next summer :DQuote:

considering a bike for commuting and playing around on the weekends. i have very little road experience, i want two up for the ladies, i'm a big dude and i don't want to look like a shriner, i like the looks of naked bikes, and i want to spend less than $5K. thoughts? cb919, older buell, cruisers?

That is the '08 Triumph Street Triple.
Same engine as the Daytona 675 ("re-tuned"...whatever that means) with the styling of the Speed Triple.
I think it's coming in September or October.
Rumors are that Triumph will have 6 new models next year...
i probably could take the maxis off ya
Just wanted to report it was a gorgeous night in Northern NH for the ride home... then out again and then AGAIN for the ride home... the moon, if not full, is damn close and one incredible sight.
I heart my bike.
I'm jealous...my bike is sick, no riding for me in the last 3 weeks...

I had a wheel bearing break on my while I was riding and it managed to fuse itself the rear axle freezing it in place in the swingarm...which means...a whole new swingarm for me. I got the part in today, so hopefully I'm back up and running by Saturday.
you guys are focused on the past...check out the future of core motorcycles

Thanks Valleygirl. It could have been really bad day when that happened...I was doing about 50mph when the rear locked up...thank god I was going straight at the time and kept the bike up.
Lax...fixed the image for you:

imho...ghey
^^^^ I saw something similar at a mall a few days ago except they were scooters and therefore ultra-ghey.
I'm looking for a bike right now. I'm pretty new(wrecked every bike I've been on((3))) I will mostly use it to commute but would like to tour a lot on it too. Under 5 grand. I want something like a BMW GS600 but cheaper. I think "sport touring" is the class.
Any suggestions?????
I plan on actually learning how to ride one first this time. I was young and overconfident.............
Smart move...I'm sure it's overstated, but you can't wrong with the MSF course. I knew how to ride when I took it, and I still learned something and had a ton of fun too.
As for a bike, do seriously consider the sv650, there's really no going wrong with that bike. Wi3dzmin ought to chime in sooner or later, he's got an sv650s...hell of a bike and damn fun to ride.
more on the street triple:
clicky
I just drove home this 2007 C90. 1500 cc. Depending on whether I stay married, I could get to know this real well.

Thank you TGR for the Motorcycle Stoke thread. Inspirational
thinkin of gettin a little pit bike? Is it worth it or should i just get a new dirtbike.
This probably should go in gear swap but I figured I'll spam in here. Does anyone need a helmet or riding pants?
I've got a XL Shoei TZ-R flat black helmet and a pair of Joe Rocket textile pants in XXL ( i usually wear 36/38 jeans and these pants fit well with jeans or shorts on underneath, not too baggy ). PM me if interested.
Pulled out the camera and shot some pics. Still waiting for delivery of the add ons.

Cirque, Now all you need is a chick who appreciates bikes to settle onto the back and go for a ride.
*sigh*... me likey shiny things.
I'll third that. I picked up an 06 SV650S last May and couldn't be happier with it. It's not the fastest bike around and won't pull wheelies at 90, but it is comfortable for commuting and will go faster than I need to. Even as a small v twin, it will get to 110 before you know it and it doesn't take much more road to get it to 145.
Cool dude, hadn't actually heard what the top end was on those bikes yet. I'm curious because I really want to buy one for a track bike in the next year or so.
BTW...typically motocycle speedo's will display 3-6% over the actual speed...but that doesn't make too much difference IMHO, 140 vs 145 is a wash, it's still fast. Unless you're racing, you really don't need that top end anyways.
Just got this '82 Nighthawk CB450, 8,600 miles. Great city bike. Much faster, and overall, better performing bike than the '73 AMF/Harley Sprint. Can't believe I waited so long to get into riding - - what a blast!
these are pretty much my ranked final choices. Gotta decide what my next bike will be.
1) Firebolt
2) VMAX
3) VRSC
so what say you all?
