sfb nice video. hope you guys were careful, saw some state troopers and forest service agents with telescopes down in salt lake, looking for people smoking pot up in the crows feet area.
I was prepared for that and had stashed skate skis and spandex @ the bottom.
They did try and search us for epo

then the crows anus got heinous
a big one ripped through the gully
sometime around the 11th petty amazing the way the slide carved out the walls of the gully. My jelly legs weren't linking to many turns in manky avvy chunder.
glad to git sum with the guys I spend summer/fall dog hiking dimple dell with, looking up dreaming of winter turns.
snow down to just above the water tower.
Good stuff Dibs, looked like real nice snow off 10,292. I hit the BST for a quick run that afternoon, saw your truck in the lot and figured some crow's feet were on the menu.
Let me know if ya wanna git sum this Sun. DAD:cool:. Things appear to be stabilizin moving into a springtime snow pack. no instabilities other than the debris feild noted. Never saw a crown but wasn't looking hard either. Not sure where the slidestarted seemed from start of debris fairly low on the slope but it ripped through that gully with a lot of force to carve those walls like that.
i'm in for sunday... few inches of fresh too, if you believe the forecast...

What do you do when you lose a ski and it rockets 1000 ft down Stairs Gulch? You keep skiing.

Went up to Nebo w/ whapworth, jtrue, myskishaveboobs, and non-mag Eric. Nice day to be out. A small pocket ripped out on my second turn or so in the upper nw coulie on the skiers' left side (I was the 2nd skier). Took me about 40 feet or so, but it behaved more like a sluff than anything else. Whippet came in handy though. Other than that skiing was fantastic, but wouldn't want to be up there much later than noonish. Got a bunch of POV and nonPOV footage to edit later some time.

Saturday, March 27th Superb day on Roberts Horn. Skied E and N aspects. Soft, creamy powder by 1pm on E. Nice dry powder pockets on N. No current instabilities, but we did see lots of wet sluffs from the pre-storm heat wave. Glorious day out in the mountains.

got up to wolverine today. wasn't expecting wind but as we got up near the ridge it must've been pretty sustained in the 20-30 mph range. not a ton of snow available for transport though. quite a few tracks in the cirque, snow looked mediocre even on the north facing aspects. skied the big shoulder into the main chute, top of shoulder was windloaded but not too scary, mid chute was hardpack but crossing over to the north facing side of the chute there was good consolidated cruising snow that let me open it up and get some nice big swooping turns into the apron. N facing patsy ridge into grizz was skiing fantastically.

I wasn't planning on repeating the NW Couloir this year but my friend begged me to take him (and his buddies) down it for his birthday. There was ice at the rap station which made it much spicier than normal. What better way to celebrate life than cheating death!
http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...228/plinko.jpg
But no matter how spicy the NW Couloir is, I just have to look at PLINKO to put things in perspective.....
Howdy.....some great trip reports and photos!!!
Just wanted to say hey, and share some of the the stoke from this season. For the most part been keeping it pretty mellow (minus first two photos), been a sketchy year.
photos are in no particular order and are probably of no real use to anybody in terms of snow conditions of late:rolleyes:, but hey its eye candy so enjoy!!:D

errr pagan??
great shots above^ looks like some shots before alta opened
Bart searches the debris pile of a gnarly roof-alanche while I did a beacon/probe search. Nobody was buried, but you never know when an innocent barbecue/beer festival will go bad. Be careful out there!

Silly good this morning at Alta
Rootin and tootin it is pukin. This morning was good but need more terrain access. Tomorrow if it keeps coming down should be great and it seems like things may FINALLY be lining up for a late season bonanza. Let's all be safe out there.
Everybody complains about lack of snow and the sketchy conditions this season but when all is said and done we are going to be damn close to 500" and we are disappointed, go figure.
Yo. Wasatch Wanderers.
Lost BD Verdict with FT12 in Argenta, healthy WY beer ransom offered
Tagged a stump in the middle 1/3rd of Argenta today. Snapped the ankle and point released around where I fell. Nothing too substantial, but enough to bury the ski. Ended up outing myself on one stick.
If you find the ski in Argenta I'd be very appreciative of its safe return.
^^^i'll pass that around and keep my eyes open^^^
in other news, today was deep. and it is only going to get deeper over the weekend.
it sucks out there. didn't you hear it's bike season? you should all be in moab.
Word on the street is this season's a bust.

The view from my helmet cam. Nuff said
This morning was amazing. Minimal sluffing on steep rollovers on north aspects, great turning on south aspects with no bottom felt when descending at 0930 this morning. Would have been a nice day to call in sick.
