"Make the drummers red."
I'm headed to DSO on Sunday, haven't seen Jeff in a looong time so I'm psyched. I started seeing him with Volunteers in 1985 when they played a couple of small bars on LI then a couple of years of Zen Tricksters shows but have only seen DSO once right after they started. I'm going to try to get to at least one of the Tricksters shows next year, tix go on sale tomorrow for the first one.
^
Based on Tuesday night's show you will definitely not be disappointed! Jeff's playing and tone are spot on and the band seemed dialed in and listening to each other the entire show., enjoy.
hoping to take the boy to see dso one day. i've never seen them. they're in pdx in february but i have no idea if the show is kid friendly
nope 21 and older at the roseland
Damn those boyz bring it ;) I think they said 4/27/69 was the second set. Got a pretty amazing and unexpected Alligator in the first set and an explosive St Stephen in the second. Great show, may have to go see another one before they leave the NY area.
Will be in the state capital tomorrow. Hoping for ‘84.
Let’s Party
Shootin' for one of the weekend shows on LI. Gonna bring my daughters to their first DSO show. Anyone planning to be there?
Super friendly vibe. Dancing is encouraged. DSO is bringing it.
the boy and i decided tonight that next halloween we're going as the monkey and the engineer
that's what i said but he insisted. i'm going to get overalls and an engineers cap and sew a steal your face on the front
That's spectacular.
Both my kids had their first show at Red Rocks (whatever the hell the current incarnation was called 10 years ago or so) at age 6-8ish. They've been to a number of shows since. It's old hat. They would have loved that costume.
Very well done.
DSO New Years shows in my home court. Gonna be red hot. Any of you freak shows can make it you let me know.

never miss a sunday show indeed...sunday at the beacon was a heater.
Last night delivered, big time. Elective set, that totally krushed.
Help>Slip>Frank opened, and the crowd, which was pretty subdued when they came out, went ballistic.
It was on from there, not sure who the woman was, that joined Lisa for a fire version of, I’ll Be with Thee, which they killed entirely, but yeah, well done. Lisa is so good on elective nights. I think she’s awesome. So many killer versions. Second set opened with Stranger>Foolish Heart It was sick. Best Foolish Heart I’ve ever heard. The second jam was so pure. Looking forward to spring tour. DSO rules.
Here's the full show to stream https://jam.buzz/listen-to-dark-star...full-show-aud/ If ya find the Sunday show from the Paramount in Peekskill post the link please.
So if you haven't heard this it's worth a go, loudly I might add. DSO SBD with Phil at the Fillmore, mighty fine Here Comes Sunshine and a smoking Stranger.

Great theme night by the Wings. Somebody in their marketing department is on point having it on a night they are playing the Bolts, bravo!

Random-ish factoid, the Rio Nido Lodge mentioned in the article where Hunter wrote verse 1 has been shown in several news pictures this week because of the Russian River flooding. The lodge has been a hip music venue since the 20s, and it’s been flooded many times. It’s a pretty neat building. This time of year, even when the weather is dry, Rio Nido is a pretty dark and dank spot.
Got my shipping notice for the new JGB boxset Electric on the Eel; 3 shows 6 discs with the Acoustic on the Eel as the bonus disc. These releases have me more excited than what Dave has been putting out on the GD side.
^^^nice! I got psychicly lost in the Olympic peninsula woods and didn’t make it down as planned...
For you “metal” dead fans:

I’m in the midst of listening to all of 85 start to finish. God bless the oade brothers
I just saw the side bar ad for the 'official' TGR/GD merch mash up. While the 'Steal Your Line' phrase is kinda funny, the merch itself blows. C'mon TGR/GD, you can do better.
