Bump, because if we are not at The Turn, we are getting damn close.
Next week is looking more timid than the 95* we've been seeing every day for the last month. I'm not getting my hopes up that it will stick though.
Dew on the car window in thee morning and crows flying up canyon in evening.. I can feel it even if it's steady 80F during day
First issue of Powder showed up in the mail today. Another sign ❄️
First fondue :) Attachment 186505
The ladies in Colorado City are wearing long dresses. Is that indicative of "the turn."
Definitely felt like the turn today with chilly weather and mid 50s temps this thread is exactly oh schedule

second cut of hay
elk were bugling last nite
at the turn indeed.
34 in Grand Lake this morning, with a few aspens here and there on Stillwater Pass showing a little yellow. Very soon indeed.
Perfect timing on this bump Colomike.
I was just talking about this thread with my girlfriend the day before you bumped it. It's not far off here in E. WA. Looking forward to some freshies soon. So much so I got the brakes bent and installed to fit on my Praxis Pows last night and put storage wax on the summer set up.
BRING ON THE TURN!
Heavily frosted roofs and cars in Golden Gate Canyon this morning.
Could've used a long sleeve jersey on this mornings ride. 25 degree drop from last week.
I have felt it too. Radar the other day showed snow showing up on the peaks.
High of 90 yesterday and forecasted high of 75 today with the weather bobblehead saying we've seen our last 90 degree day of the year....it's coming....
The "turn" hit about half way down Skyscraper snowfield two weeks ago off Rollins Pass. A few decently executed steep turns and now I can't stop thinking about it.
- Started logging on here daily again,
- Read a ski book (new biography of Coombs),
- Booked an AIARE Lev. 1 hut trip for Jan,
- Made a list of gear purchases that need to happen this year (replace alpine boots, replace beacon, new daily-driver),
- Scheduled our yearly "Wax On, Wax Off" party where we tune skis but mostly get drunk on homebrew while watching ski stoke in a garage,
- Started mapping out the calendar for MCP-based trips
Today was gorgeous here. 80 and low humidity, tonight in the high 50s.
Can finally keep the windows open.
Another more substantial dusting of the high peaks.. leaves starting to change. The turn indeed.
I am pissed this isn't a telemark thread. That's "THE" turn.
Anyway Seattle just got nice finally. Not in a rush for La Nina to arrive quite yet, but when that baby girl gets here I'll be ready and waiting.
