The new E-bus?
Thats pretty cool. That took a healthy dose of welding and body fab. I guess he salvaged what he could out of a splitty

Yeah, I wish there were interior pictures.

^^^^ ouch
first thing I did was replace all fuel lines, filters, proper clamps for fuel injection, etc.... then brake lines and flush.

My God! It’s a transvestite. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

If the neglected fuel system doesn't get you, the wiring might ! I've seen lots of melted AC wiring on Vanagon D pillars, just waiting for a hot day.....
and for any older vehicle, make sure that those fuel lines are compatible with current fuel mixtures.
Went for a bit over $140k on auction. Out of my league, but it’s clean.

Ya, that's ridiculous. No fucking way it makes it up any significant hill. I just had camp gear and 4 dudes in mine and had to push it over a steep section of Sonora Pass.
Yes, all this nostalgia for scarcely-functioning vehicles that, despite how much time and money you put into them, they will still be Just A Volkswagen. I definitely pushed mine further than I drove it, and I drove it a very long ways . . . all the way back to CA from southern Louisiana in 3rd gear, 4th having dropped off somewhere near Amarillo on the way south to go offshore. I bought the thing in Sonora, and I never tried to come back there over the pass, having already not made it up from the east side on my 350 honda (passenger had to walk, she was pissed). They used to have those ads, It's not a car, it's a Volkswagen, and truer words were never spoken.
