Ted said above it's just one of the owners but I heard it's the same company just rebranded and expanded. But my source may not know wtf he's talking about.

Stio is not the same company as Cloudveil, as I believe Cloudveil was purchased.
Some fucker sold my info to a mailing list company about a year ago and I now get a ton of outdoor catalogs, including Stio. I don't know a thing about the quality of their gear, but they have a real 1980s vision of mountain sports, where everyone is white and the women are relegated to the back half of the catalog. Give me a fucking break.
I'm pretty sure it's what Danno said. (at least) two guys started Cloudveil, sold it to some big company, then many years later one of them started Stio.
Yep, Cloudveil was sold out quite a few years ago
Core aeration is good, but fertilizer will
make a much bigger impact.
Over seed after a frost this spring and fertilize the shit out of it.
Hit it every time your kids are off it for a couple of days.
Might take a couple of years.
Yes, resoodding is much quicker and way more expensive.

Stio got a lot more attention than I expected. Thanks for the info!

Not to mention one of our friends who happens to be female on the cover about a year ago.

So yea, you, full of shit
this also reminds me I need to make a dump run
I'd rather have brown patches or dirt before turf. Just let the kids kill it, have fun watching them instead of worrying about the grass, and fix it later. Some minimal effort like watering and fertilizing will help it last a bit longer.
Hey, sorry if I stepped on your toes and I think it's great that your hackles went up over my statement. Nice to see people getting worked up about the idea that alpine sports / brands aren't welcoming to non-white folks. Having said that, I don't see a few non-white people in a 50-page catalog as a triumph of representation. I think Trew does a great job on that front, and Stio is nowhere near that standard. As far as gender, every Stio catalog I've ever seen has men's product, then women's product. My wife and I had a big conversation over their last catalog how both men and women could be at the front if they just flipped/reversed the printing for one gender. Maybe your friend the ripping skier can suggest it to them.
Random question: who would have predicted that so many of us would be so passionate about lawn care? I’m such a fucking stereotype!
There’s a shop near my place called The Turf Store. I go in a few times a year. The lady knows me. I tell her what’s going on and she “prescribes a treatment”. Usually end up with $150-400 in seed, fertilizer, pre-emergent, herbicide, and some soil amending shit. I’m in it for home resale value. At least that’s my excuse.
Fuck “overseed”. Might as well throw it on the tarmac. Seed with a purpose, mulch it in, water twice a day for 6 weeks and stay off it. Without full commitment, you’re just wasting seed.

Do people still join this forum? Or are the new names just creaky fossil v.20?
IME there are a lot more Black people in the catalogs than on the slopes and trails etc.
