Yesterday at Alta, get on the Collins chair and this kinda goofy looking 30 year old guy immediately pulls the bar down. Not a big deal in of itself but up until a couple of years ago Alta had no safety bars so you can pretty much assume the person that pulls the bar down is not a local. (Parents with little kids an exception). I ask him where he is from and he says NY, I mention to him I knew he was not local, said it in a polite way, he was not offended. He says I always pull the bar down. Ok so far no big deal. He then starts talking about, where he skis in the East, what resorts are good, etc etc, non stop chatter. Says he used to compete in big air competition, seems odd, big air guy pulls the bar down but then the last thing. "I had to stop competing when we had our second kid, my life insurance policy would not cover me if I was killed.
