Beach day...
Awesome shots fenris. Looks like an A-Game sort of day.
Inbounds for Mrs RR and yhs. MRG delivered packed pow trails and pow in the woods...tracked up pow is still soft. Soft snow is good snow!
I don't know how many maggots were at the event, but big props to jonathan shefftz for his hard work in setting up the thunderbolt Rando race this past weekend. A great (if not somewhat masochistic) time was had by all!

Big smile. Thunderbolt anniversary as a rando. Brilliant!
Big tour today with Peruvian, Magicsnowboard, ML242, and a cast of thousands (well, 8 in our group) on the northernmost Taconic. Photog was ML and he had to head back to Gotham so probably no pics until late tonight or tomorrow.
Skied a slidepath that faced south and not surprisingly, was very sun affected.
Several runs on north facing aspects in birch forests yielded many sweet turns.
Many scratches on faces from shwacking but many smiles also.
Now time for some Vitamin I for my old bones.
Got one pic today. I'm not sure where everyone was though. The slide.

No scrapes here. But my hot tub (or as ml242 called it, dude soup) sure felt good.
Aerial drone video footage captures the chaos of our "Le Mans"-style mass start for over 100 racers:
"Junk Show" analysis (need to view in full screen mode at YouTube to appreciate any of this):
0:06 = Eventual second-place finisher Josh Flanagan (slightly to the right) face plants while running to his skis.
0:20 = Eventual third-place finisher yours truly (foreground) doesn't bother putting on his pole strap, forgets about the tendency of his ski pole basket's leading edge to dig into the snow, drops a ski pole, and turns around so quickly to face into 100+ oncoming racers that he twists out one binding.
0:36 = Unknown racer (center) overcomes some initial problem to book it to his left to pass lots of people (including me).
0:43 = Unknown racer (left) also overcomes some initial problem to break away from the pack.
The slidepath on Equinox faces east...
Peruvian handed out mandatory ninjaclavas to pull over our faces before we made the drive but I think it was Elgonquin.
Spent the weekend skiing Acadia National Park. The snow is soooo deep there. Lots of good pitch. Will try to get photos up tomorrow.
18.5` bob with light snow falling. 3 1/4" of blower overnight with some wind transport.
Cat on Caddilac?
I hope BigDaddy had a nice birthday weekend rest and is ready to slay some snow soon.
