W, that stuff is really coming along!
the lazy susan idea is a great one, and something i'd love to see pictures of if you build it.
Below are some pics of a nightstand that I built in a local woodshop class. Its not my design and I had a considerable amount of guidance throughout the project, but I think it turned out pretty good for my first piece of furniture...

Gorgeous!
nice piece man, really good workmanship, esp. for a first piece.
My summer project was new putting down new travertine floors in our kitchen. Not as impressive as most/all projects on here, but I felt good when it was done.

Here is a mock-up of the lazy susan...
It will have a glass top up to 18", the thing is smooth as silk.
(chris king headset bearings)
I can also do some embellishments under the top glass (pieces of chain, etc), but i don't think it needs it.
it is elegant, muscular, geometric, and functional.
(if that embed doesn't work:

I think $150 is fair...(but i can do a less elaborate/smaller one for ~$90, or super cheech Dura Ace/campy chainrings, etc for $250)
I'll post better pics when i get it done.
Early, I am reworking the wood backing with solid cherry in order to make it more durable, I loved the veneer, but it was finicky. Should have your done end of next week.
Seconding Danno's suggestion to get a separate thread for your stuff, ride.
i used to work with wood, but now i just fuck around and hack random stuff together. its really refreshing not having to be so precise with any of it. of course, i don't have to make money doing this either.
figuring it out

paint...why? i still don't know.
http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/...paintframe.jpg

my son just added skate trucks, so now its road ready in a sketchy kind of way.
Man I can barely make my bed.
I just got an e-mail from my supervisors, the price just went up to $225 due to the Japanese Tsunami.
I just made another one with fewer parts that I feel comfortable selling for $150. Pics later, gotta go up to targhee fest.
nice one strawjack... love no stress projects where beer is the focus and the project is the assistant. Always wondered WTF your avatar was.... now I know.....
I'll play.
Pool house + stone wall and landscaping from last year in background. Beginning of addition (enlarged dining room + screened in porch) I just finished.

Nearly finished addition minus stairs, stone flower beds, and paint.

#2 pine floor in dining room laid by hand with cut nails. (the original portion of the house is roughly 250 years old, so we always stick to an early American farmhouse look)

Nice work there, WG... did you do all the building, stone work, etc.? Looks like a sweet spread.

Thanks, looks great but how do you tell which end of the pbr wrench to read?
Good Question.
It's too light to attach anything to, I'll make you one with red at the business end, if you want.

Well Mercury built it originally with someone else's hands but for the past 21 years I've been building this car. Started off as a 1980 Capri Turbo RS-4cyl. 4spd. 1 of 5000 made.
Now has a Sportsman block 5.4 liter with billet 4 bolt mains, Forged Steel Crank internally balanced, Forged H-Beam rods, Forged pistons, Canfield aluminum heads cnc ported, solid roller cam-over .620 lift, fuel injected-G-Force T-5- Torsen T2R diff. Griggs GR-40 Suspension and 13.5/12.2 4piston brake kit. And the list goes on and on.
2900# and 400 rwhp.

This is an older shot of the engine before the fuel injection was installed and the valve covers and intake were painted black and before the big brake kit was installed.
something is going on with picture attachments. If I click on one of those it opens in the same window and then when I hit the back button it goes back to the threads page. Weird.
Nice work on the car.
I did a lot of work on my old Boy Scout meeting room back home 2 summers ago. Me and 2 other guys did most of the work, with other people helping out here and there. The room was stripped to nothing when we started. I moved here to CO before it was completely finished, but it was nearly done.

This stage required a lot of precision cuts and was definitely fun to build.

^^^Thanks. The appreciation appreciated.
Here is the car in action http://youtu.be/6nFUqGOW52A at Pacific Raceways, Kent, Washington in 09'
It was during a Mustang Round Up Open Track day with lots of traffic but fun nonetheless.
moving along (at a glacial pace) - local milled board & batton - boards are up, i'll put the batts up next year after they get a chance to dry and shrink.
