That 3.0 is the difference maker, my wife's had it, hers was a Q5 but somebody had ordered it with all the good stuff to basically get an SQ5 while saving a few bucks, but then he bailed, so she was able to swing a strong deal on it. Honestly that car was great except there's not a ton of room in the back in Q5 but if you need it the Q7 is basically the same vehicle stretched.Quote:

Well see what you think. The 2.0 turbocharged is peppy around town, it's not like it's a pig. But to me it definitely lacks grunt and top end. A lot of people have said the 3.0 is the best engine Audi has ever made, why they're moving to a turbocharged version (maybe they already did on the Q5? Not sure) is beyond me, but I'm a big fan of supercharged power over turbo.

Returned from a ski camping trip to find this nest off a back door of our house. Some healthy large beautiful blue jays is all I’ve seen so far. We’re avoiding using the door.

Steller's Jays in the PNW are particularly noisy birds. Going anywhere near that nest is going to elicit lots of squawking and maybe even a little swooping. That said, I'd be inclined to leave it at this point.
If you feed Hummingbirds, you might want to stop until the Jays are gone.
If you can put a little webcam above it it could be cool for the kids to see. We used to use binoculars to see the robin fledglings under the corner of the roof.
I am inclined to roll with it but now realizing I have tree removal scheduled next week to deal with 2 enormous firs - maybe 20’ from this nest. 2 days of pro saw work then I’ll probably be dicking around myself for days after breaking down and giving wood away. WWMD?
Leave it. If they decide to bolt, no worries... they're jays after all. :D
I could fire up the chainsaw in the yard right now, and the Jays would be back for dinner.

We have to be very careful in the spring about leaving our garage door open too much during the day. The little birds like to nest in the rafters if you give them half a chance.

I've had a lot of exposure to the horse world.
My in laws rent pasture to horse owners, no arena, no tack room, just pasture. So some of those people have been OK. A couple of them have been horse rescuers, homed something like 15000 horses headed for glue over the last 15 years. Kind of odd, but generally good folks. In laws pasture fees are like $200/horsemonth, cheap for around here. We got my daughter her first horse for $5 from the rescuers when she was 4.
Then there's kleptos and meglos that show up there, steal shit or try to tell my Finnish FIL how to do stuff. They don't last. It's kind of funny since the old man is tougher than you can imagine and prone to aggressive behavior. Likes his shotgun.
But since we've started this dressage shit, I have seen a lot more assholes, sadists, snooters and shitbags than ever. Had some super unprofessional behavior from one trainer and a lot of other two faced conduct among a sequence of barns, one of which was a Russian run chop shop.
Where serious money runs into sketchball social peripherites, like a reef that engenders some weird ass behavior with deep sea predators.
So yeah, she's got a load of ribbons and is queuing up for Young Riders, but I think the dressage thing is waning while the love of horses will endure.
When's the right time to connect with a coworker who's been fired? I had a coworker in another team who I'd done some work with and like on a personal level; we were having a Slack conversation yesterday and when I went to reply with some additional information, the conversation was gone. Uhoh, search for them and find their account is deactivated. Sucks, and seems like it was a surprise / not their decision since we were planning future work.
So...using the collective as Miss Manners may or may not be a good idea, but when would be a good time to connect on LinkedIn and offer condolences?
