I'm just here to say I am severely jealous. Carry on.

that's so sick, what peak is it if you don't mind?
Daaaaamn!
^^^Saw those tracks from the top of the maybird headwall. You don't see such smooth turns right of the top of that pitch too often. Very jealous.
Gorgeous, Beautiful. So jealous right now. Wish I could throw my signature up there.

Skied the Needle the other day with Gnarwhale and Tyfalk. It was all time. Lots of sluffing in the chute, endless powder down the apron. Thanks again boys! :D

^^^nice job on the needle. Zach and I attempted it last week but got shut down by that freak southeast wind event.
I'll add some of my pics from Box Elder...
Someone had already broken trail towards the shotgun so we thought the Super Couloir was already tracked. Then we turned the corner and beheld it untouched.

*note* The snow felt VERY hollow at the top of #2. We got a small 18" slab of the most recent snow to pop out but it was the hollow feeling near the ground that really spooked us. However, the layering in the other smaller chutes felt fine.
Hit up Lake Peak's SE couloir today. W-facing approach from Red Pine was crusted and windswept. Couloir had a bunch of fresh over a hard surface. Terrible bonding meant quite a bit of sluffing at the top. It was fun though. Except for the wind. The wind was nasty on the the top of the peak and at the entrance to the line. Further down in mid elevation WP we found fantastic snow. 8-16" deep probably. Got a couple of 4-10" deep fractures in the top later to go on some rollovers on the way out, but the were only ~20 feet wide by 30 feet long.

Caution! Falling Rock. This boulder came down a couple hundred feet, crossed the creek, rolled up the bank, over the trees, and onto the trail.

wind effect was brutal

Nice place for a nap. Except the powderturds were flying nearby in Cascade.

In-depth analysis: mostly wind-jacked and sun-manked yet somehow still more satisfying to me than powder turns in the Pen. Go figure.
The pen had some merit today...

The gully out the bottom of that thing is one of the funnest things I have ever skied:

^^^^looks like an f-ing riot up at the yurt. speaking of yurts, any intell on elk meadows down south. likely heading to yurt down there end of week/weekend.
thanks TH, as always a fountain of knowledge.
will report back how it all goes...
spent 3 nights @ the puffer lake yurt last late march.
decent corn nice yurt small.
dude will pull your stuff up for a few xtra $$$
skied a day w/ us off city creek pk. slog to get to most pks from there.
supedsedly the bugling elk yurt is larger and closer to big peaks Delano etc.
got room?
the couple who was at mc yurt have a friend w/ a condo there that we stayed at pre yurt.
I borrowed powder ponds
my super athelete bro who finished 3rd in the powder keg tele race division w/out spandex,:yourock:
sled that has good runners and stabilizing bars.
much better than a Mcquiver rigged kids sled specially on double falline pitched trails.
my athelete being "athletic";)

Elk Yurt is at the base of Delano. Delano is a bit of a bore to ski from the yurt (west side). Basically a high, wind swept meadow to a 12k peak. The east aspects off of Delano and that ridge line have some gnar if the conditions are stable.
Kimberly/Belknap are some of the most prominent, inspiring objectives and fairly easy to get done with or without a sled from the yurt. The Tushers were made for sleds as they are big peaks with mellow terrain between them.
speaking of sheep, look at all those BRO models.Quote:

^^ Great shots man, really killing it. That the pheiff?
i come back expecting winter to still be around and i get spring? looks like i missed an interesting season here.
That was us, next time I am only dragging whiskey but yurt parties = good times. (At one point I named the pulk "hell bitch" though...)
Skied from the little water ridge Tuesday finding good turns in the north-facing shade, no instabilities noted or seen anywhere high in the drainage other than some pinwheels. Not surprised to see wet slides lower in the drainage on the long slushy slog out.
^^^^ liquor is quicker :) and lighter so is herb. Looks like your crew was well fortified.
tried this year but next season i'd like to harness the maggot powers and score it for a week. thing books fast now days under 2 hours.
Definetly nicer to have it for consecutive nights. good skiing to be had around there
Even coming from bcc it's a bit of a haul.
Nice set up though. you could easily tent around it and use it for meals /warming with a large group.
^^^thanks and yes

hey, did that sheriff just start his truck when we passed?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...b/IMG_2102.jpg
There was still dense but uncrusted snow in the shadows, but those shadows are getting a little shorter with each passing day. The crusts on E facing softened late morning, and with cold soft snow underneath, made for heavy but predictable skiing.
yeah, you find it? the one with the edward khil playlists? nice van and buckle, boyz.
