Oh! Thanks for this informative site about working in this. I really enjoy being a working site and taking this challenge.

Observation from the Utah/Nevada border.
Wanted to ski the big tasty bowl in the center of the photo. This is as close as we could get.

We put in a good effort, but the snow depth never really increased with elevation. Maybe in the spring. If so, it will be a nearly 4,000ft continuous run 6,000ft above the salt flats.

ksl was reporting there was a fatality. Fuck.
Yikes, 20 degree ridge remotely triggered ride....

Jesus christ, 20 degree ridgeline  When that isn't safe to ski, what is?
That pic of cardiac is crazy. Supposedly Kessler did the same thing, huge slides on Argenta and the Lawnmower which sympathetic'ed all the way to Catcher's Mitt.
Quite the season we are having, and I don't think things are going to magically heal up like they did about this time last year.
I'm hanging my touring gear up indefinitely and going back to my roots on skinny nordic skis and long poles. Skiing this year in the meadows is boring me to tears, I'd rather go do something else. [/end blog]

It appeared that the Lawnmower and Argenta went, but the Catcher's Mitt was not involved from my vantage point this morning.

It was also mentioned in the Avy report a few days ago. What was your vantage point?
Not bored to tears, yet. Heard a couple collapses near the rigelines where the snowpack's thinner. Snow's fast and surfy.

I was across the road on top of a ridge from the catcher's mitt this morning and could not see any crown lines. May have filled in, but the crown was still visible in cardiac bowl so I am assuming it would have been in the mitt as well. I dont have any of the photos off of my camera yet, but check out the link below and scroll down to the post with Wow's photo of the area just below the heli photo, which was posted yesterday. Looked the same this morning.

No slide in the Catcher's mitt from UDOT control

In addition a slide reported yesterday as third of a mile wide turned out to be coupla hundred yards, max.
Good skiing in sheltered, stiff in terrain exposed to the east wind.
Skipped through some meadows this afternoon, found some nice snow on NW aspects. The sun had it's way on the south facing, hard crust's on the way out.

interesting release as noted on yesterday's uac, those guys put in a needlessly steep skin track, which appears to be the case in these parts
