Awesome pix gully sliding and sunsets....
Got upcountry today, -15F at quarter of 8AM. Deep snow, very fluffy, schralped with gusto. Just the one run for me, the younger set went back for another run on the business end of the run.

6" down and still dumping at Plattekill.
I'll be at Stowe bright and early attempting first chair. Feeling a deeper day than forecasted but we'll see what the wind does.
11.2` calm and new snow amounting to 1 1/2" bob. Freight train winds last night were moving the snow to lee areas.
Fun time yesterday skiing with D-Roc, Stuck in Brooklyn and Irish Exit.
Sidecountry turns

Drank some rye and tuned some skis with D-Roc, those bases were fucking convex

Some tunes for the "old" folk, "beg steal or borrow, two nickels or dime"
Yesterday did not suck. Keeping it mellow till the cast comes off

Not trying to deliver any anti stoke but I guess it would be hard to dampen spirits around here.
Should have aimed at bob yesterday. The Beast lived up to its name. Scoured is being kind. The weather was a non-event, almost balmy with negligible wind and continued warming. Injury or worse available at every transition and highway interchange. The powerline and the canyon glades had some transport in them. Poaching lift tower rope offs didn't provide any joy - sastrugi was unbreakable...
Wish I knew you boys were frolicking yesterday, oh well another miss.
Headed to the Steau this AM. Blue on blue in orange pivots for change. Probably a 10:30 a.m. On Hill start. Entourage lacks the need of freshies...
7" of fresh in So VT hills last night.
Wow night boarding in the townships most definitely did not suck last night. Lots of fresh and free refills. Good times :D
I am organizing a backcountry trip on Mt. Katahdin for March 13-17 and still have a couple spots open. Looking for a couple compatible co-adventurers. This involves winter camping. There is amazing terrain up there.
If you are considering, please send me a PM and we can discuss. I'd like to ideally meet, but if that isn't possible, chat on Skype or phone perhaps, to make sure this would work.
Holy hell talk about sleeper pow day. NOAA forecasted 2-4" overnight, wound up with 7-9" of really light fluff and even deeper in the drifts. All turns were taken before 10am (thanks hw), I imagine with the sun out things became a little more supportive. Last good pitch on Liftline was sooo rippable. Gopro fogged up so no woods footage, but the Lookout woods were great.
Got called out by a fellow mag on the lift who recognized my jacket, didn't catch your handle but nice meeting you! (light blue flylow jacket, green boots)?
Lifeline at the rock castle? Cuz I got like 3rd chair and fresh tracks on that this morning. Made my day.
Did that run all morning
Beef Heart Milanese on polenta with wilted kale. Vietnamese Braised pork belley on rice noodles. Curried cauliflower and asparagus. Pork belly ganche-dipped bacon. Pork belly and toasted walnut chocolate bark. Rhubarb upside-down cake. Curried split pea soup. a bunch of friends, kids, and skinning laps from the house. Half way through winter!
Good year for the tele-fest at Bromley. 8"+ at the mtn.
Early tracks before the race were awesome.
Fresh lines all afternoon OOB and photos of IB freshies after 3pm.

^I made my maiden voyage to Bromley today. I got on the hill around 10 with my wife and 7 year old, just in time for it to be tracked out! There was some really, really good bump skiing by the fixed grip quad. Soft hero bumps. It was great.
Can anyone recommend a good 2nd ski for my "quiver". I am looking at getting something shorter with like lower swing weight so I can get into tricks and spins. Just jumps and spins off jumps and natural features. Too old for rails. And something good for east coast woods.
I'm 5'8" and 140 and currently ski 189, 117 underfoot K2 Obsetheds
I dig your backyard.
that was me.
today was good, just enough density for supportive turns.
all before 9am inbounds at stowe. Had to work after that.
