It's so much worse than it sounds. If there is any other way the makes sense, go that way.

I wonder if a truck with a slide in is considered a rv/camper for this application.
Might just go the other way anyway.
I guess I just don't have the patience. You get stopped or at least slowed down at the middle bridge, then the lake fork bridge, then the never-ending little blue project and the whole time you're in a line of cars going slow but passing anyone doesn't accomplish anything. My truck is currently in Montrose but I'll be taking Kebler both ways for sure to pick it up.
It's busier than it used to be, and there is even a "rush hour" of sorts with all the subcontractors coming in from Delta and elsewhere. I don't really notice it usually, outside of the leaf peepers that sometimes literally set up in the middle of the road.
Edit- what I do notice is all the dead and diseased aspens.
You should see how many contractors make the Montrose - Telluride commute year round.
Kebler was in great shape when I drove it the other day. Fresh grade/mag on the CB side. You can tell they mag'd the shit out of that road all summer, very little dust/washboard.
Yeah, it was pretty wild when we first started seeing so many trucks from Montrose and Delta. They work year round. One of the bigger condo buildings near me is getting a new roof right now with roofers from Omaha. Our new roof last summer was subbed out to a crew our of Greeley.
Agree with Snowaddict, I drove Kebler a couple of days ago and it's pretty smooth.
Good to know I’m coming back from Idaho dragging my raft - torn wether to come over Kebler or through the highway 50 shuffle

when I worked in telluride for a year 75% of the guys were out of montrose and even junction
the 25% that were local smoked so much dope
we got in trouble cause the pack of dogs on our job would run up and down the ski run all day
the 90s were magical endless deep snow no crowds every day was a good time
Nobody that works in Telluride lives there.
I was just about to post this same thing. I got a flat outside Marble maybe 15 years ago and the guy who picked me up and gave me a ride to Carbondale was commuting from Montrose to Aspen for work each week. One of the ladies who cuts my hair comes up from Delta and stays in Glenwood for 3-4 days at a time and even with the motel cost she's coming out way ahead.
insane lightning storm last night with some fresh snow up high this AM.

Still socked in above treeline, probably new snow up there.
Death Whores.
What comes next PSLs and sweater season or the Silverton Slash(tm)?
When does the knit hat go over the flatbrim?
^ once you start seeing vests worn over melanzana’s
I’m lost on that PSLs are though…
