Newer sleds are definitely closing the access gap that a bike provides. I still think they take a fair amount more skill to go technical places. I haven't ridden a snowbike that has the pure grunt and ability of a sled. I'm happy on my Axys with a 36" front end.Quote:

Snowbikes and sleds are not interchangeable. They both have there specialties. Maybe one day Polaris with change this.

I did find some foil trays with lids that fit in the hot dogger which is nice.
Anyone got a handlebar bag they like that doesn't cost $300?

But the gauges are giving me fits, they powered up and self test ok but speedo and tach no signal. Odo is ok and can cycle modes.
Chaincase speed sensor plugged in, all plugs ok, disconnected and reconnected, re-soldered plug pins to PCB, added additional ground to chassis.
All that according to Internet research. I can't believe the gauges are borked.
Other possibly is a short somewhere.

Gauges do go bad. Dealers have a test gauge they can use to determine whether it's the gauge or something else. Should be pretty cheap if you set it up right with them, e.g., tell them exactly what you need to be diagnosed.Quote:

I have Toms Snowmobiles 20 minutes away, which is amazing.
They have been super helpful with parts and advice getting this old dinosaur going. But their advice was also "don't spend any $ on it"
Sucks going in there and seeing all the new, modern sleds for sale, though, that hurts.
The Tach might be nice, but not required.
Speedo is not necessary at all.
Does the temp gauge work? - that is a necessity.
It is a 2011 Summit you might just want to take what you can get, unless it is just for the fun of fixing it.

'14 XM should have come from the factory w/ the module to allow temp to show on the gauge. Have you cycled through all the modes on the gauge? Guessing if you do, you'll find the temp reading.Quote:
