The big guys rule. For the rest its a lifestyle I guess. I once went on a quest for a mag to get some skis for the friend of said mag. Friend ran a no till farm managed via GPS with a system that treated one plant at a time with what it needed. That was 15 years back. Wonder how the farm worked out?
We have four Frigidaire fifty pint dehumidifiers that have been running for at least four years, one for nearly six. Two were Amazon returns that we got for around two hundred bucks. Used to be the Wirecutter pick, but looks like they’ve replaced it with a smart version.

Thanks. It seems like 5 years or so ago all of a sudden they all turned to absolute crap but I'll look into the Frigidaire ones.
A lot of small farms supply food lockers, community kitchens and the like. With cuts to these organizations from Our Leader some of these farms are going to be hurting. I was watching an interview with a woman who had greatly expanded here strawberry operation just in time for the organizations that created the demand stop buying.
I am not trying to be funny but it really depends on your definition of small. second, vegetable farms that sell farm to table/CSAs are different critters than the more commodity oriented producers.from the verdant green mountain state - home of "small agriculture" which here is a three or four hundred cow dairy. Twenty years ago many dairys were at 700 cows and more. This trend has continued. Then there and lots of people with a working partner and a vegetable farm / gentleman's farm, and then there are hippies that are the children of my generation. these kids are finding cheap land and busting ass growing and selling at markets and CSAs. great kids
Nowadays all the small farms are run by hedge funds. Sorry. Not.
Anyone ever insulate their garage doors or replace uninsulated doors with insulated ones? Did it make a big difference? Cost?
IME if you live where it is below freezing for an extended period of time if you don't insulate the slab floor dont bother with the door.

cant help on cost, but went from old house without insulated garage doors to new to me house with

houses were in same general area, insulated garage doors made a difference, both in hot and cold weather.

I'm tempted to insulate our garage doors but the garage door opener is already twitchy--the raising force is already maxed out and I fear the extra weight might be too much. In any case the garage is dug into a hillside so it almost never freezes in there.
Might be time to replace your springs if the opener is struggling with the door's weight. If that's the case then new springs can help accommodate the added weight of insulation

Will mankind ever give up on the idea of god?
Mankind no. Individuals yes. Same as it always is.
Just think of how many religions there has been since the beginning of mankind. If somebody doesn’t teach us religion, we’ll just make up another one of our own. People are weird.
I think if God was a being he'd wear a tee shirt that said Shit Happens.
Manure occurs
I heard that some people are asking hard questions about (their) god after the Camp Mystic flood disaster.
The weather's been whomping the fuck out of red states the past few months. Maybe god's pissed.
^Ha!
Personally I'd rather believe there is no god than believe there is and he lets bad shit happen all the time like child rape, spousal abuse, torture etc.
When you think about it knowing horrible shit like ^that goes on and still believing is like being in an abusive relationship and having Stockholm Syndrome.
I have a friend who is a devout Seven Day Adventist and she struggles with the idea of sex trafficking. She told me she knows god must have his reasons for allowing it but she hasn't figured it out yet.
What if God was one of us. Just a slob like one of us.
bravo.

"I am the punishment of God... If you had not committed great sins, God would not have sent a punishment like me upon you."
Ghengis Khan as he raped and genocided tens of millions - that were mostly killed by hand. No guns, no gas chambers, just arrows, swords and blunt objects.
I’m sure the Christian god had a good, albeit mysterious reason for letting Ole’ Ghengis wreck havoc on humanity. He loved them!

Religion is a quick way for me to see if we will be on a occasional conversation level or possibly friends. My friends are not stoopid people.
People are scared of death, easily manipulated, and like to be part of a group.
Next question?
Youre talking about the god that drowned the entire human race except Noah and his family, that turned Lots wife into a pillar of salt just for looking the wrong way. Its not that there isnt a god, just that people are wrong that god is going to help them. Jews understood what god is like; Jesus gave everyone the wrong idea. Wasnt it god who said "I am your retribution"? No, wait. It was Donald Trump.
How many years prematurely will the world end because of all the little Allen keys that were included with unassembled product sold to people who should have already had one?

Are the excess Allen keys conspiring to do us in?
Maybe they are colluding with the TENmm sockets?
