Where do you find the Euro forecast? I've been wandering around the ECMWF site and am having trouble finding the NA forecasts...

since this might get lost in the padded room, I need to find a coffee shop to work in later this week, during the afternoon. Somewhere between the capitol and Univ. of Denver. Suggestions?
Go to g maps and enter co-work Denver.
More comfortable than a coffee shop for more than 90minutes in my experience. They usually have a lounge where you can get a feel for the place with WiFi. Public libraries in a similar light.
20" overnight, 24" in 24. Powderhorn did not suck today.
What is this snow thing you all speak of?
Oh man I need a kick in the butt to get out there and ski in the cold. I waxed my skis. This is the warmest day with lowest wind this week. Loving skiing means embracing the cold. No excuses.
I'm definitely dragging my feet for a while despite all the new snow, because it's "Colder than a witches tit in a brass bra"!
“ In the age of sail, on the cannon deck of a warship, next to each cannon, cannonballs were piled up at the ready, in a pyramid, which the sailors called a witches tit. It was built on a brass plate with holes cut in to hold the cannonballs from rolling off as the ship listed, rolled and pitched. The sailors called the plate a brass bra. Because brass expands and contracts with temperature at a greater rate than iron, rare extreme cold on the cannon deck would cause the brass plate to shrink to the point that the cannonballs would be released from the pyramid and roll over the deck. “Colder than a witches tit in a brass bra” is a saying that evolved from that phenomenon.”
Ahahaha, awesome. Of course I've heard that phrase, but good to read the deets.
Ok, I started the truck and now gearing up. Once last check of emails so people think I'm werking. The final kicker was checking the webcams - there was an instructor with never evers slogging around on one ski at the base, been in that situation so many times. I got a laugh watching a noob face plant - if they're outside, I'm going outside.
Forecast for the Northern/Central mtns is 3-6 FEET this week. All aboard the hype train! Steamboat FTW of course.
I'm a long time lurker and weather nerd. I made something I think some of you will find interesting. If you've ever seen the weather.utah.edu NAEFS downscaled plumes (they used to show it on the Opensnow dailysnow sometimes) I recreated it but added the free Euro model ensemble data. In addition you can select any longitude/latitude in the lower 48. This is an attempt to adjust output from low resolution models that dont model the mountain terrain well and has limitations. You can read about it here https://wasatchweatherweenies.blogsp...led-naefs.html

I also gathered data from a few short term high resolution models including NOAA's new experimental RRFS ensemble. Again you can select any lat/lon in the lower 48

Not responsible for any expected powder day busts
some soft turns to be found in places at copper but overall conditions there are pretty grim after the holiday crowds had their way with the mountain. so while I'm hyped on this storm its like man it needs a lot now. enjoyed lapping slalom and radical at the basin more yesterday.
