Pigs abusing their power is not political. Nor is reducing the supply of military grade equipment that police forces are being outfitted with.
I remember this reversal in 2017: https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile..../idUSKCN1B81TI
Quote:
Obama barred the military from transferring certain types of equipment to police or sheriff's departments, including tracked armored vehicles, armed aircraft or vehicles of any kind, .50-caliber firearms and ammunition, grenade launchers, bayonets and camouflage uniforms.
Obama also required law enforcement agencies to justify the need for items like helicopters and other aircraft, wheeled armored vehicles, unmanned drones, riot helmets and "flash-bang" grenades.
"These restrictions that had been imposed went too far," U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions told a meeting of the Fraternal Order of Police union
Oh. I forgot about that little cracker.

There's a lot to read here but it's worth some time.
Fissures in qualified immunity starting to show. Statewide in Colorado, regionally in NYC, and now statewide in New Mexico.
https://innocenceproject.org/new-mex...ccountability/
I’m sure that bullshit will be challenged all the way up to the Supreme Court, but before that can happen, and poor fucker has to get screwed over so that he has a case that will go all the way to the fucking Supreme Court.
That reads like someone is looking to declare victory without winning:
In other words, New Mexico has opted not to hide government behind sovereign immunity. There is no mention of really ending qualified immunity, which shields individual officials from civil liability.Quote:
The legislation effectively bans qualified immunity — a judicial doctrine that shields state actors, including law enforcement officials, from liability, even when they knowingly break the law. New Mexico is now the second state to ban qualified immunity, following Colorado which enacted legislation to end the practice in June 2020.
Under New Mexico’s new law, a person has the right to sue the state, a city, or county, when their rights under the state’s constitution have been violated
The doctrine was invented by SCOTUS and to my layman's eye it looks like a straight up violation of statutory law. Every time someone whines about judicial activism I re-read the wiki entry just to make sure I don't live too long with low blood pressure:

Driving while black. In a service uniform
Saw that. Happened in December. I hope the guy ends up being a wealthy Army lutenant. Apparently he had heard things about the local popo.
Let us hope this is the first crack in a Blue Wall:
Maryland on Saturday became the first state in the nation to repeal its powerful Law Enforcement Officers Bill of Rights after the state’s Democratic-majority legislature overrode Republican Gov. Larry Hogan’s vetoes of three historic police accountability bills.
Hogan announced Friday that he was vetoing the three bills — part of a package of five police reform measures passed by state lawmakers earlier in the week. The governor said he would allow two of the bills to become law without his signature but said the others would “further erode police morale, community relationships and public confidence.”
But Democrats, who hold veto-proof majorities in both the state House and Senate, vowed to override Hogan’s vetoes — a promise they promptly fulfilled, with lawmakers gathering Friday night and Saturday to make it happen.

Look at all the conflicting orders.
“Get both hands out the window and turn off the vehicle !”
—- this order is not humanly possible to obey. And it was shouted multiple times.
Officer 1 = “Keep both hands where I can see them !”
Officer 2 = “Get out of the car !”
Officer 1 = “I said Keep both hands where I can see them !”
Officer 2 = “I said Get out of the car !”
——- again, it is not humanly possible to obey both Officers orders due to seatbelts and door latches.
Policing in America is so fucked up.

Right?? I had the same reaction. Two roided aggro cops yelling. I would have done what he did. Keep both hands out the window. What else can you do? Reaching for the door latch or seatbelt will get you shot.
The video is even worse after they get him out and you can see the ‘Mercia fuck yeah patch on his camos and they still cut no slack. Fuckkk
Bonus Points to Officer Fatso holding his gun sideways, like some Mexican Cartel gangster. Is that really acceptable police training ? Any range I’ve been to, you would get laughed at unmercileslly for holding a gun like that.

Commissioned Officer in the military getting hassled by police bullies while in Uniform.
Notice how the guy automatically assumes he's a specialist or corporal? Why is that? I'll tell you why. Because he's black.
I’ll be honest, that video made my blood pressure spike. I’m not going to watch it again. It was when the Fat Officer approached the drivers door. Holding his pistol sideways like some gangbanger.
So much wrong in that video. JFC.
