I actually pulled that out of me arse (like most everything I say and type). Imagined that might be one of his teaching points. Better to be lucky than good!
Looks like you folk had a great day. Stoked for y'all!

Truth! I'm more busting on Dave for being Dave.
I regret not boarding yesterday. I would have snowshoed up, no problem. I just can't keep up on a board if it gets rowdy, icy, bumpy, treesy...what else...groomed. Pretty much every thing...but wide open POWDAH! That is what riding is all about!
4th page in a row without tunes... BOOOO. This one goes out to a tried and true storm slaying strategy...
Someone asked for city stoke so here's city something. Warning: very little shredding.
Edit: forgot this the first time. Dunno who but boarder towed behind snowmobile on comm ave near BU bridge to BU east.
^good point
^^^^^ It's all of the white powder, man. Nobody can keep their shit together;)
Good eye, Peruvian, I was wondering if anyone would notice the lack of skins. Totally agree with you. With a light dusting on a well established skin track, I zoomed up that trail. Still have skins in the pack for the steeper climbs but the BC base gives great mobility on the low angle and flat approaches.
a setup like that would be really fun on mont royal. so far i just zip around on my Madshus Epoch 185, but they're hard to milk turns in the deep. More just like moderate tele straightline turns.
Yeti has those Rossi BC125's on sale for $200 CDN. They look fun with a set of 3-pin binders. But a lot less "real ski" than your Voilés. Anybody used em?
fun with deep snow, 3 pins, lace-ups and negative temps:

Skip anything but the Voile. They are not a hybrid but a true down mtn ski with scales. I'd prefer the vector but came across the Chargers on the turn around forum.
I've created a monster:

So, if your form isn’t quite this
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o...psa8d5297a.jpg
and you look like a metro sexual whose twerking some of the time but tele turn when you’re keen too,
then it’s a pretty good indication that you never had your heel clipped in before.
Ya learn something new every day if you’re willing.
10 ski days out of the last 15 caught up to me at Platty on Saturday.
Obviously ML242 was in the right place but in an alternate universe so no connection was made.
Snow skied like 12” of cut up straw and deeper untouched refills aplenty in the curtains had me wishing for more boot and not so tired bones.
That and the fact that my lower lip and hands got numb was a clear indication that my vertebrae were requesting a rest.
The Literati at Platty have portioned the fall line trees into numbered runs 1-8? When did this happen?
Sam the SSPA (super senior parking advisor) was nice enough to let me park in the $12 lot for free and my ski pass was a mere $4.30 (st tx only?) or so my CC account tells me.
I guess that’s what a wave of the hand towards the ticket window gets you these days.
Sam likes chocolate covered donuts too.
Had a seasonal rental in Arkville for a few years in the late 80’s (picture animal house 26 weekends a year).
Sunday morning Mass on the bar level of the Platty Lodge was a pretty hip place to be after breakfast, then onto the Tee Bar for your penance.
Haven’t had a 1st or 2nd quarter of skiing like this in recent memory.
Already approaching last year’s totals.
What will the 3rd and 4th quarters deliver?
A lot of good people in these halls and up in the rafters as well as the ever present forerunners.
Hoping the stoke comes from farther and wider as the last two quarters unfold.
positive vibes to the injured…
Oh, and about Dr. What in Shamoknee?
I think I’m injured • from a chuckle or a chortle, or it could be the hiatal hernia again, or schatzki's ring or the duodenal spasms are back - I hope not.
Maybe I just tore some cartilage off a rib. motherf’kr get me some rossi’s – I’m gonna start a new coffee table.
Or Dave(?) from Florida who’s wife dumped him for his best friend and he went to Colorado to try skiing (not in the HOF folder!??)!
How do these stalwarts stumble in to this fiefdom and then fall back into the slip stream and not know the purity of their follies?
Is the adulation too much to live up to?
These people need to stay on the pulpit for longer terms and given special status in the habitat.
Dunfee, we need a mechanism to capture these souls... create something, but don't build the stairs so far from the house this time.
Oh m g. Classic, R man. "Don't build the stairs so far from the house this time"
Agree, many fleeting moments, but then again, many lasting ones here, too.
And VT-F nailed it... the two am bacon feed is what Ullr wanted. Here's to a great second half. :yourock:

Missed connections, the downside of having no lift lines!
I was pretty bummed when 4:15 came around for my last ride on the triple.
If you can dig up any pics of the tbar or arkville, it'd be really cool to see them. I only got a few days on the t-bar and it was a definitely a special ride.
But I can ski both ways....and it's harder on tele gear but gives you a slight mobility advantage....I guess if you're fit enough to tele everything and love the turn that much there nothing comical about it. I never admit to being a tele skier in public. I ski on tele gear is my standard answer. I like the mobility and freedom, but mostly noodle. 3 pin tele FTWin.
Agreed, after 5 or so seasons i would have thought id be joining the rest of the granolas under the single chair.
Im getting my first set of footbeds tomorrow so up to this point i blame the gear.
Honestly, everyone should start fat biking. It's almost like MTBing....it's like people who can't get rad on their MTBs now feel rad by just riding on snow. Like tele at the resort. LOOK AT ME! Now I have a reason to be mediocre....https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1klLzM6_tlM
Wait?... Is this a test? And when do we get our grades?
Who cares? If someone is bored on alpine and wants to learn tele, why not at the resort? I learned skiing at the resort... and snowboarding. (Although, I could argue I learned snowboarding in the back country riding on my snurfer.... so I guess I get a few gnar points for riding free on the aquaduct?!)
Who gives a shit as long as you're not dropping loads on the skin track or running people over at the resort. Fun is fun.
